Been without power, cable, phone or internet for 5 days, but we were luck! No damage lots of folks did though! Fortunately we had our generator! So while it does run everything, no air, it runs enough to get by.

Glad you have your generator. I'm glad you are alright and safe. Is there anything you need help with?

I know how it feels to be without power for an extended period of time! We had an ice storm just before Christmas a several years back. Knocked out power for over 6 days, including Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. There is a reason I have over 300 hours on my generator - I hate my utility company's lack of redundancy for our subdivision. My generator runs 1/2 the house, including the well pump, furnace, sump pump, water heater, fridges/freezers, and some house hold electrical outlets. No AC, oven, or microwaves though, too much current draw.

Mines enough to get us by, but do wish it would run my well.  No water sucks.

Yup! Mine gets us through the worst, but no air! With Lou Ann’s allergies no air is  miserable. I keep thing her we need to do the whole house generator! Cords, propane & all that crap gets to be a real pain.

We've priced a whole house from Generac before. Even with a 50% off deal on the cost of the generator, it was still close $10k installed (electrical and natural gas hook ups) and tested. However, if your power goes out like mine seems to, it might be a worthwhile investment. At least for peace of mind sake.

Yup! I know! But I’m a old fart not like you, Steve & Joe! I’ve been retired for 9 years & have yet to spend one cent of my investments. Nether one of us take medication, nether of us have real heath issues. So I tell my wife from time to time we aren’t taking this with us you know. She is the penny pincher by far!

Sounds like you should get another car while you're at it too  .

Glad to hear you're doing alright though!

Glad your doing ok Gary !

What caused all this issue ? a storm ?

Thanks Kiwi! 4 tornado’s & some very seriously severe straight line wind! The straight line wind did the most damage along the lakeshore where we are. It stretched for almost 300 miles across when it came on shore.

Thanks Ringo! I’ve made that point to her before! She says over her dead body! I asked her what position would she like me to place her in for the coroner.

Sorry, I’m still trying to catchup on work I lost time on. Yes & no! We get straight line wind storms lots of times, but not 300 miles wide coupled 4 tornadoes! I believe there was a reason for this & I’ll leave it at that!

Poor Gary,  we usually get the weather 1st.  Let er drift over the lake and intensify nicely before slapping him up side the garage.
