Hi Frosty,

Nice hanging out with you yesterday.  It was a good show, too.

Cheers!

Thanks bud. It was great to see you and your wife at the PTM Grand Opening as well as this show. So where's your pics dude? You started this thread! LOL!

Okay a little back story, one of my friends from the West Michigan chapter of POCI was invited to show off his '69 Judge at this show. They were celebrating the 60th anniversary of the GTO and they had some guest lecturers talking at 11 a.m. So there was a GTO corral and a Mustang corral. The show was a sell out from what I heard. First time in 16 years that they ran out of parking. I heard they had around 300 cars for the show.

2025 Detroit Grand Prix returns to the streets of downtown Detroit next year - no more Belle Isle!

This is Greg Jordan's '69 Judge. That is Greg on the right, talking to Scott Tiemann, from Supercar Specialties. Scott is one of the biggest Pontiac restoration experts in the country.

This '73 GTO is a love/hate thing for me. Before I purchased my '73 Lemans Sport Coupe, I had the chance to buy a black 73 GTO with a 455 and a Saginaw 3-speed manual on the floor. My folks thought it might be too much car for me so I passed on it. I'm still kicking myself for that one.

If that ain't bad enough, how about #123 of 300 Black Ghost special edition 2023 Challenger, part of Dodge's Last Call program. It is a tribute to the Black Ghost Challenger that ruled Woodward back in the '70s.

How about a '69 GTO Judge wagon? None were ever built but it's a cool "What if".

My absolute favorite custom car of all time - the Monkeemobile!

This is Monkeemobile #1 that was used on the show in seasons #1 and 2. Monkeemobile #2 was used sparingly in season 2. The current owner purchased this car from Barrett-Jackson over a decade ago. George Barris purchased this car and updated it slightly after car creator, Dean Jeffries passed on getting them back after the TV show ended. Now the Monkeemobile is a staple on Woodward Avenue during the Dream Cruise, along with the '66 Batmobile replica, the A-Team van (it's a clone), and KITT 2000 replica.

GM brought out a couple of rare treats from the GM Heritage Collection.

Am original 1964 Tempest Lemans GTO with tri power. She's a beauty.

Here is a serious treat - the Banshee II concept car

Here is another Pontiac concept car. This one I have never seen or heard of before, so I am not certain this was an engineering study or someone's "what if". Here is the 1965 "2+2" concept car - it looks like a Buick Riviera crossed with a Catalina 2+2. Note the 8-lug wheels and 428 tri-power engine.

Another rare treat, the original 1963 Ford Mustang concept car, which is now owned by the Detroit Historical Society. Look close....this car has been banged around a bit and never touched up or restored. She's got paint chips, and some slight dings.

image.png.6d65b44320e31c6a2a206589925afe80.png

Here is another twist.

In todays world of imaging on line you would not see people walking around and admiring a work of art, out doing, enjoying, sun shine, interacting, experiancing ... i could sooo go on .

This isn't a twist,  it's Detroit.  It's what we do...... :driving: Celebrate DETROIT IRON.   This concept Mustang has been on display in the Henry Ford museum for as long as I can remember.  Nice to see it in the sunshine.  Cruisin Woodward has been packed every night since back in June.  All leading up to the Dream Cruise.  Ya wouldn't see people walkin around a parkin lot full of Prius.  1st impression.......funny place for a junkyard.
