When something goes right for a change?  Today has gone exceptionally well SO FAR.  Met the Officer at court this mornin at 9AM.  He said right from the start he didn't feel right about giving me the ticket. (NOT that it wasn't deserved) Cool Ol guy in his awesome car, wife N puppy riding shotgun.  On their way to meet up with their daughters and their family's. Just out for a day of fun at the Dream Cruise.  I already had my mind made up to give you a break.  Told him thankz and I was concerned about the points on my record and was hoping there was someway to get around that.  He did one better and dismissed the whole $115 ticket!  Thank you Sir!!!  One of Waterford's FINEST!

As I was 1/2 way there, ran out to Union LK NAPA, talked to Vic (who did the machine work on my motor) Asked for suggestions on the backfire crap and that I've covered about everything I can think of.   He suggested checking for an intake leak.  They had a car with a 350 Chevy doing the same thing. Drove em nuts til they sprayed a shot of brake clean and it killed the motor.  Bad intake gasket.  Vic is the ONLY distributor of Meguiars products in the area. WTF?  Picked up a bottle of Ol #7.  I have never used wax on the Sunbird's lacquer paint work.  AND a bottle of Heavy cut #4 for swirl marks N scratches.  Wifes Black paint on her GMC needs some love.  Again thankin the officer for the extra $$$.

Steve, Meguiars is the only product I’ve ever used as a general rule. I do use a couple 3M products for surface finishing & ; dare I say one Turtle wax product that was made for a very short period of time. It was a limited run of a special synthetic version of the ICE product that was quite different than the ICE product most people know. So I bought 20 bottles when they abruptly ended it.

I get the lacquer paint thing! The Z was black lacquer! Don’t know if you have ever tried them, but two Meguiar products that are really good & even for lacquer are their Ultimate polish, which is gentle, but effective. Also their Ultimate quick detailer, this stuff is amazing! It’s the only product that I use for waxing the two Lacrosses. Once a week I do the whole car or after I wash them. It takes about 15 minutes start to finish. Because of this nothing really sticks to the finish, they clean really easy even in the winter.

#7 is the only polish that has ever been put on the Bird.  In the last 5 yrs since it has been in storage, the end of my bottle dried up.  They have a wax to go over the polish, but I've never used it.  #7 is even paintable.  Turtle wax... simply the best chrome cleaner I've ever used and always in my detail kit. Some of the stuff I've brought back with that on brillo pads is amazing.  Never tried the detailer.  Can usually blow off garage dust with my compressor hose.  Finish with the thing... It's 35 yrs old, not suppose to wash it. I haven't and its nasty as can be but takes off dust down to the shine.  Remember Johnsons floor wax your Mom used to use?  I put it on my tires damn near 40 years ago.  Heavy coat N let dry, then buff to a mirror like finish, like you were doing your shoes.  3-4 coats front and back of the tire with a good buff in between.  You can see yourself!!!.   Moved those 13 in 60 series original ralley rims/tires to the trailor I made to match the car.  They have never dry rotted and still buff easily back to shine.
