So I been looking for a truck this last month or so, dumped that pathfinder because I blew the trans in it, made $500 off it and now I'm looking to buy something else. So, http://dealers.aultec.com/v/?object=show&a...p;DealerId=5961 <<--- for some reason the "insert link" button didn't work for me, but anyways that's the site for the truck. Check it out for me, let me know what you think, high mileage but I went overnight last night and looked at the body, it's not too bad. Not a spot of rust which rust is common for that old a vehicle in these parts of the country. Going to check all bushings bearings and see if I can find any blowby, make sure the 4x4 works, might be going Wednesday to make my down payment if all goes well!!

Wow, that's a lot mileage. But then again, that just shows you how tough these K trucks are. It's not uncommon to see these with over 200K on the clock anymore.

The usual suspects of these K-trucks, tie rods and ball joints, they go through them every 50K or so. Also, fuel pumps, they're known to crap those out every 130K, like clockwork.

Other than that, for the price, go for it! Just make sure the transfer case is in working order, the U-joints are all in good shape, and no ABS light is on.

I personally wouldn't pay over $1k for a car, no matter what kind, with over 200k miles on it... It looks good but overpriced IMO.

Shoot, I'd get it for winter! $1900 is nothing! (Though the dent in the door looks pretty bad...)

Not bad. Good luck. I don't know a whole lot about trucks so I can't offer you much advice. However, I myself have been looking for a winter car for about a month and a half now and now luck because everyone seems to want too much for what the car actually is. Oh well! If it's meant to be, it will be.

Those trucks have been known with maintenance to go 300,000 miles without a rebuild. The transmissions are fairly stout but the front axles known for issues if they are not maintained properly. Bring a creeper and check the half shafts, ball joints. There is also a vacuum line that runs from the transfer case to the front diff, just check to see that it is still hooked up. Also check the rear cab mounts for rot. Those are the worst spots for rust on those trucks. For $2000 it should not be a bad truck if those all check out.

That's a lotta miles!!! For $1900 they'd better throw in 4 good winter tires!!!

I went and test drove it yesterday. For the record:

Pros:

Comfortable

Runs Like Brand New

No blowby, whatsoever.

Trans shifts perfectly

4 wheel drive works

Tires are Brand new

Cons:

Spider Crack in the windshield

Sway Bar is completely disconnected

Tie rods are the slightest bit loose, nothing terrible

Dings and dents (but no rust)

Shifter feels like it's been broken (Kinda just hangs there, no specific spot, but still works to shift)

Edges of seats are torn

ABS light is on

Otherwise this truck was pretty sweet, probably going to go in there again tomorrow and throw these guys an offer of $1000, see if they'll take it. That's about all I can really afford right now anyways. Otherwise, found another truck I could probably get for $500:

and if that doesn't work out I'd for sure go for this baby right here as a RESTO project:
