Hey there, new here... '67 GTO conv 1 family car (mom bought it new in Edmonton, AB, Canada in '67), unrestored. 400cid, rare bench seat option.

Nice ride. Nice suit.

That's what Hamilton looked like before Tim Hortons truly took over the place!!! LOL!

What really impresses me about your ride Jack is that your family has resisted the urge to swap out your factory steel wheels and hubcaps for either factory style Rally IIs or some other set of hot rod wheels. I can't honestly say I recall the last time I saw those hubcaps on a GTO at a car show before. Lemans/Tempest - on a rare occasion yes, but not on a GTO. Even though those are correct for a GTO as well.

Thanks! The shots are from Edmonton though - where I was born and raised (car was bought at Southpark Motors) - but I hear what you are saying!

The hubcaps always draw attention, along with the notchback bench seat, leading people to claim it's not a real GTO. Then I show them the pix... and the orig 'Protecto-plate' and watch their jaws drop.

I was lucky to be an early user of eBay and scooped up extra hucaps for dirt cheap!

By today's standards, those hubcaps are well - very pedestrian - for a GTO. As I said before, most people would have replaced them a long time ago. I imagine people were tossing these things left and right and now they are very hard to find. I'm glad you have some spares.

Pedestrian is the perfect descrip... for when you take a corner too fast, one 'cap pops off and you have to walk back up the road to find it! (Theoretically speaking! 😇)

.....and cussing under your breath while you have to go get the damn thing too!
