We are a little over 2 1/2 weeks away from one of the biggest car events in Michigan - perhaps in the country. The third Saturday in August every year is the Woodward Dream Cruise. A 16-mile long rolling cruise from Pontiac Michigan (on the north side) to Ferndale Michigan (on the south side at 8 Mile Road - just before the State Fairgrounds and the Detroit city limits).

Some media experts report this one day event brings in over 60,000 cars and trucks and 2 million spectators. 

The Michigan Widetrackers will once again be parking on Woodward, across from the train station on the south bound Woodward loop (a.k.a Widetrack Boulevard). You will find JUSTA6, notallthere, and I parked there. So if you are cruising Woodward, be sure to stop by and say "Hi". Indyman Joe will be probably be cruising around as well, disturbing the peace as usual - its wwhat he does well!

Okay - Woodward and Back to the Bricks is this week. The fog is clearly and I am ignoring all of notallthere's nasty Dr. Pimple Pooper videos links he keeps sending me.

Went to woodward this past friday Lots and lots of cars. Looking forward to back to the bricks! Relaxed crowd for sure.

 

I plan to run Back to the Bricks Wednesday night Joe. Grand Blanc into Flint.

Coming down in the morning and will in flint Wednesday for back to the bricks and back to Woodward on Thursday .bringing down the barn the find 69 gto.can't wait to meet you guys

Don't know that I'll make it up to Flint, but would be cool to meet up Fri/Sat of the DC.  Will be parked with Frosty.

I won't be at the DC until early Saturday morning. I need to work my local car cruise Friday night as I am needed to be the official cruise photographer that night.

I am doing Bricks tonight because it's suppose to rain tomorrow night.

No I did not JUSTA. Tim and I did not connect up. It was well after 7 pm before I got out to the Bricks.

Agreed. I have told him where we are hanging out on Saturday. So hopefully he can connect up with us. Any word from Indyman Joe?

Nope....I meant to call him today.  Hope to get down there early and find a place to setup my tent.  I like to get my full cruise in early while you can still do it in an hour and a half or so. See you tomorrow.  TIM stay in the inside lane (LEFT) we are just past Orchard Lake RD. Look for the Widetrackers banners and all the Pontiac's.  We will be watching for your GTO.

So Joe went and burned his tires off at the racetrack instead of Woodward.  He sent me an awesome 1/8 timeslip!!!!  Met up with Mr N Mrs Notallthere, Frosty, Larson and was happy to see Tim Crofoot meet up with us driving his 69 GTO.  Tim is about a 2hr drive away from us/Pontiac MI.  Rain yesterday kept me home, but that's not stopping the masses of muscle and car eye candy from tearing up Woodward Ave.  (guess they don't live on dirt roads)  Perfect day broke up for us at 6pm and like last year, rode the edge of a huge storm most of the way home.  My SWEET wife had the garage door open and the lights on so I could back right in.  Local ABC station broadcast live for the last 2 hours of the DC.  7-9  They cover the entire 18 miles from end to end.  Without the heat of the Woodward parking lot for the finish.

It was great meeting you guys and putting faces to the name. Had a blast at Woodward  and hopefully I can make it down for more shows 

Tim it was pleasure to meet you and hang out at the greatest rolling cruise in the world - the Woodward Dream Cruise.

Lets hope this is just of the first of many future hang outs together!
