Well while Kiwi has some exciting fun, I’m JustA here tinkering away making incremental progress!🤫

The top is close to done, but still some very tedious work to do for the expanded metal body! Very tuff stuff to polish!

Well this is the first look at the Indian with the new front cover/splitter/emblem! Not finished quite yet, but getting close. A couple more weeks. Really weird to have it on the ground after 10+ months in the air! It’s usually on the ground by late May! Took it out around the block to see what the new NACA duct setup and tranny cooler we’re like! It was well worth the work, that’s all I can say! Been a strange year! Still have the inserts for the front cover to finish, as well as the plenum cover and still need to install the interior racing foot pad!

Plenum cover/cooler is done. The real purpose of this upgrade was two fold. One I wanted to take more advantage of the F.1 hood for cold air induction on the plenum now that the new ram air NACA duct was added to the front cover. This cover sits as high as is possible, without hitting the hood when closed, to get it in to the air stream of the F.1 hood scoops. This air is now diverted into the  open area of the cover. Than flows over the plenum and is extracted out through the top and back of the plenum cover/cooler. This reduces plenum air temp more than before creating a denser charge!

The other was  too have deeper finned top, a little more bold! So to speak.

Sorry Kiwi, I missed this! Well for the finish on the aluminum I do a couple things. First let’s assume that the aluminum is well polished to start! You know buffed, no scratches, mirror finish! We all know aluminum even in that polished state oxidizes. To keep the finish bright and mirror like I use only a terry cloth material with Happich Simichrome.

This is the only aluminum polish I’ve ever used! Yes I have tried others & to be blunt they just plain failed!

The blue on the Indian is a pretty paint & an interesting one! I love a black car! I’ve almost exclusively owned black cars, but when I saw the blue on this car I knew that was for me! It’s a metallic paint, but it is also a flip-flop paint! So depending on the light, the type of light, sunlight, florescent, incandescent. It can appear blue, electric blue, purple, iridescent purple among other variations!

This is the one car i regret selling, it took me years to build as the kids where young, we had no money, i was working weekends and nights to generate money to feed my petrolhead addiction.

And once it was finished, a guy walked up to me one day and offered me lots of cash and i ..... being a total dumb arse said yes😞...

yeah i know what your thinking its justA four door, but this was a new zealand new car, shipped from canada and assembled in Petone nz and first sold to a potato farmer in Hunterville, just 2 hours away from me.

when i sold her, she sported a 454 big block with turbo 400 and a carmaro diff

she was my first ground up rebuild:) and i was dam proud to show her off, run her down the drag strip and .... well back then, we used to do lots of skids😋

Back then it was a base coat grey, perl  blue then clear top coat with a sit load of colour sanding

Nothing wrong with a 4 door! Some of the best sleepers are 4 doors! Beware the 4 door that looks mean! It just might be!
