  1. Sounds like one of two possibilities or both. A bad fuel filter, and or injectors that have heavy deposits. If you have never replaced the fuel filter, I would! Then get yourself several bottles of Gumout Regane, this is as good of a fuel injector/upper end induction system cleaner as there is. Add one bottle with a fill up and do that at least 4 times. If there is no improvement let us know what occurred and we’ll go from there.
  2. Good choice, but just be careful! It is a product that carries potential risk. The toluene and other aromatics are both breathing and skin absorption issues. Wear gloves and a mask if you work in a confined space, not outside space. At least wear gloves if ventilation isn’t an issue. And if you spray, which I don’t recommend, all the above plus protective clothing. Believe it or not the whole underneath of the Indian, car in the picture, was painted with a 1/2 high quality brush, 3 coats! The first coat will look a little hit and miss. The second starts to build volume and you’ll think you’re painting contact cement & the third goes on fairly nice.
  3. Every startup? Only cold startup, only hot startup?
  4. Not much to go on, but first take it to a place that has a good scanner that will be able to see insitu data as well as past codes etc... My best guess is fuel! How many miles? How often have you used fuel injector cleaner, what kind of cleaner? What kind of gas? All gas is not created equal irrelevant of what you’ve been told! Quite often clogged or deposit riddled injectors don’t show up as a code or even a problem on a scanner, but will wreak havoc on performance, up to and including miss fires!
  5. If I may, I would suggest you might also consider Hammerite rust cap paint. While LineX is a great paint and a good choice for a frame, I would tell you Hammerite is a better choice. The main difference between the two is dirt particulate adhesion. Hammerite is 30% glass particles. Which makes it very hard and durable, after currying and very slick. This makes it very easy to keep clean. i would highly recommend Hammerite as I have used it for 50 years.
  6. Well only you can say if the asking price is reasonable, but 200k is a lot of abuse or love or a blend of the two, so carefully inspect the car, engine, suspension etc. also if you can inspect the passenger side, under the carpet to insure no water leakage has occurred over that 200k, carefully inspect the front subframe. The 04-09 aluminum subframes had cracking issues & the GXPs might have been more common due to hp. That said how could you not get excited about a GXP!
  7. We can do lead! Perfect car for it! Welcome!
  8. Yes we love pics! Welcome Mike! Lots of folks here are happy to help offer assistance.
  9. Hey Joel, how about some interior pictures? We’d love to see how it’s laid out!
  10. Ok! Wow I am really confused! That’s a Chevy bumper, Chevy tail lights and backup lights, but a Chieftain deck lid and the rear fenders have no round Pontiac emblem on them! Yet your second picture clearly shows a Chieftain bumper and Pontiac emblems on the rear fenders! What gives?
  11. Welcome! That’s a pretty nice find! Was it a Florida car? I don’t think I would change a thing! Like Frosty, said it is really kind of period correct, Old Skool! Good luck with it!
  12. Well, possibly, if the wife finds this out ———— that may be where you’re at!😮! I won’t tell though!
  13. Exactly what Frosty said! Don’t let desire get the best of you! View it as a business transaction nothing more, no matter how much you want the car. Cross all the T’s dot all the I’s. Celebrate after you’ve made a good deal!
  14. Dah! Yah, in FL you just throw the paint in the air and drive through it! 😁
  15. Looks really good, I love painting a car! Lots of work, but lots of fun! This is a great time of year to paint. Low humidity, moderate temps. Good luck!
  16. Agreed! I have all the service manuals for all my cars, even the old ones I don’t have any more! To me there’s nothing like a book to reference! They’re right in my shop, 30 seconds it’s open and I’m in business.
  17. I feel for you both! Brownies, hello! All the NFL hype about this Browns team and so far ———? Not impressed! They’re better than most of the years since their return, but not much! At least not yet.
  18. Depending on what you want & what you want to spend there is a place called factory repair manuals .com that sells original OEM manuals, the traditional 3 book series for around $280. They are used.
  19. Sorry! All I remember is that damm bee with the spoon flying around my head! 🤪
  20. Here’s the basic concept of the redesign on the splitter. I can’t really show anything on the new concept of the front cover till I get all the parts & than after I put the Indian up for the season I can pull the front end. I also plan to put in a tranny cooler & and eliminate the radiator cooler! That tranny runs much stronger with cooler fluid. So that will need to be incorporated into the NACA duct design coming from the right side as the left side will be the new feed for the ram air!
  21. Welcome Ben! Love the car, love the color!
  22. Okay! First you have a sugar soaked tiger in the front seat & now a lion that yawns all the time, aka sleepy, behind the wheel! What’s in the trunk? The Detroit Zoo? looks like you all had a good time, that’s great or shall I say ggggrrrreeeeaaaat!
