  1. Yes, I sent a couple of pictures to Alex last week when we met. No ETA on business cards since I am the latest guy on the list. Also, no idea when I get a shirt either, although I do have a 303 polo shirt from Chicago.
  2. OK - so in this context, what is the difference between liquid cooling and liquid refreshment?
  3. I warned you it was big. Nope - not yet. If I get it this week, I know the wife is borrowing it for Saturday anyway. My nephew's 4th birthday party. The sister-in-law has already borrowed my other EZ-Up tent.
  4. Think of all the extra liquid latex and cell phone minutes you can purchase if you did kick the habit.
  5. True enough JUSTA - after coming to the Dream Cruise - everything else looks like a high school homecoming parade.
  6. My first impression this is electronic snake oil.
  7. Perhaps it could be considered water injection then????? Thanks Stratman!
  8. I do agree with you on the short attention spans comment. I see that in my own kid. What would the purpose of your car club (beyond being a social club first - which all clubs are) if stockers and junkers are not allowed? What is the incentive to stay for the whole show (especially when some folks won't stay if they known they are not going to win a trophy or an award)? How would you handle the eventual "clicks" that will form?
  9. They definitely kept some of the Torino touches and added some Mustang/Camaro elements too.
  10. If this article is to be believed Ford may build a limited production modern interpretation of the Ford Torino GT, starting in late 2015 or 2016, with the price starting at $40k. http://www.product-reviews.net/2015/06/08/new-ford-torino-gt-release-and-price-expectancy-for-2015/
  11. Thanks Joe. I know we've been talking about this for awhile now. I thought I told you it was a pre-64 show. You will have to tell me all about it. I love the swap meet area especially at this show. Are we going to have time to go swap meet shopping again? I promise to let you buy the next Royal Pontiac license plate holder we see.

  13. So what will the theme be for this year's group photo? I think we will have Justa, notallthere, Indymanjoe, Killer, and me there!
  14. Beer, it's not just for breakfast anymore! Seriously dude, if your best friends first names are Ronald, Tim, or Duncan, we need to find you some counseling ASAP! You then are clearly suffering from OCS (obsessive caffeine syndrome). We will have to fil your head with Havoc porn and Jäger to cure you!
  15. WIth who driving????? GE? Ringo? The Missus? Pro? Havoc? Me? You are doomed, doomed, doomed Buckwheat.
  16. I picked up Lucy from the upholestry shop today. She's a little dirty and she needs a thorough cleaning before next week's Dust Off, but I like what I see. First up, the door panels and rear quarter panels had blue piping installed in them to match the seats. Stupidly, I failed to take a picture of that. Doh! I will get one at next week's Dust Off for sure. Second, I had a fire extinguisher installed in front of the console between the firewall and console. The National Street Rod Association (NSRA) recommends both carrying a fire extinguisher in your classic car and having it within easy reach of the driver. Guys I highly recommend having a fire extinguisher in the car with you at all times. Third, cup holders were installed on either side of the console for the front passengers. They are removable if they get uncomfortable or get in the way, or I want to take them off for a car show. Fourth, another cigarette lighter/power adapter was added to the console facing the rear passengers (not seen in any of the photos). This will allow my wife or son to charge their cell phone/iPad while I can use the stock cigarette lighter for my Garmin. Fifth, I had the stock automatic transmission shifter replaced with my period correct Hurst His/Hers Dual gate shifter. You "old" guys will notice that the cover plate is autographed by both Linda Vaughn ("Miss Hurst" herself) and Doc Watson. Sixth, I installed my honeycomb grilles into Lucy. Finally, I had the headrests covered with matching blue piping and custom embroidery. I got the idea on the headrest from a Buick GS convertible I had seen in Charleston WV 18 months.ago. It had the GS logo on the headrests. Now in case you've never heard of "The Jury", there were 25 made, in Canada only, in 1970 by Stampede Pontiac in Calgary Alberta. They were all silver '70 Lemans with blue interiors, 350 V8s, '69 GTO rear spoilers, a diagonal stripe (similar to the Mopar bumble bee stripe) with a flaming meatball "The Jury" logo in it. This Jury is a bit of a tribute. This Jury logo looks nothing like the flaming meatball. It is a complete one off. This logo was designed for me by Mr. Paul Deesen. Paul is a retired Pontiac and GM designer, and he is a fellow Michigan Widetracker. I asked him to design the logo for me as if GM were going to produce "The Jury" as a companion car to the "Judge". This is what he came up with. If you've seen the GTO crest, you've seen Paul's work. If you've seen an S-10 Blazer, Paul designed the first one. Paul also did designs for Buick and Oldsmobile.
  17. I would submit that the aftermarket has embraced the G8 with its LS3 powerplant (along with the modern Chevy SS successor), so I would expect suspension and powertrain parts will be readily available for quite sometime. That said, certain mundane parts will become difficult to get over time. Chaos is right, the feds do require parts must be available for several years after it goes out of production.
  18. Nice write up JUSTA !!!
  19. Pontiac was never intended to be a global brand for GM. It was sold in North America only with a handful of special exports to Australia and Europe (converted to right hand drive). The international brands for GM are Chevrolet, Cadillac, Opel/Vauxhall, Holden (some under the Opel/Vauxhall name but will go away by 2017), Daewoo, and Buick (especially popular in China). BTW - Welcome to Forever Pontiac.
  20. I played little league and a lot of pick-up/sandlot as a kid but it was not a passion like the boy has. He dreams of playing college baseball someday. I want to see him make it, its just extremely competitive to make JV, Varsity, college, and the pros. Each level takes that much more to get to. Speaking as an "old guy" who's been active for nearly 30 years in my ski club and 10 years in my car club, it has been tough to draw in young people such as yourself. I am not sure if it is not wanting to associated with "old people", the perception of old ways/old ideas/ not modern enough fun, whatever. I have even read that "young" people are simply not "joiners". I am not sure what to actually believe. I know that young people hold the future to the success of social groups like car and ski clubs. So clubs are a combination of what you put into them and what you get out of them. If the same people do all the work, then nothing will change, and then burn out and resentment sets in.
  21. Life has a way of filling up your time. Believe me, my son's baseball games & practice schedule has sucked nearly every spare minute out of my life for the last 2 years and will continue for the next 2. I barely have time for car shows or cruises anymore. I literally have to fight with my wife sometimes to go to a car show, car club meeting, or do something I want to do for myself vs. going to yet another doggone baseball game. I glad you found a car club. I hope you become active in the club. New blood and new ideas are always appreciated.
