  1. You gonna get Richard or Kyle Petty to officiate the wedding? Or perhaps Ray Everham or Dale Jr? You know with 10 acres, perhaps could there be a little grudge race action between you and Nashvegas at the reception. Just saying!!!! So where is the new house - NC or SC? Is this going to be an old moderators reunion like I predicted? I am with Pro on the fire stick. I'll need a loaner but I can bring my own ammo if you tell me what I need to bring. Pro - I hear you on the Magnum and I love the car. I just prefer the Chrysler 300 front end on it rather than the stock Magnum. I know you can swap them, I've seen it done on Overhaulin'. I just felt that Chrysler could have cleaned up the front end of the Magnum a touch more.
  2. Clarification for both you and JUSTA6. Is your speedo in MPH or KPH? The majority of speedos (and therefore cars) were built for the US and where in MPH. However those built for Canada or limited overseas export would have been likely in KPH. So if there is a choice between a MPH or a KPH, which should he pick up? Realistically, the MPH will probably the only ones available, but I felt the need to point that out.
  3. Are you looking for a '67 Lemans speedometer? A speedometer from a '66 or '67 Pontiac Tempest, Lemans, or GTO will fit your car. There are the same exact car. I would have to look up the part numbers between the '67 Lemans and '68 Firebird speedometer to answer your question definitively. My first reaction is probably not since GM was not that forward thinking back in the day. The part numbers will tell me that though. The nice thing is that there are plenty of repair services to fix your existing speedo, or aftermarket replacement gauges to replace it with a new gauge that are available via the internet. The A-body platform has a ton of support available for it.
  4. Bad Jo Jo! Bad Jo Jo! Bad Jo Jo! Besides...that's YOUR car he is getting the butt cheek skid marks smeared on the bumper!!
  5. You are always welcome to come up to Michigan with it then! I am sure notallthere, JUSTA6, Indymanjoe, and I can wring the "wee" out of it...especially during the Woodward Dream Cruise. The Charleston WV Rod Run and Doo Wop is in early October too. I will be back down for that.
  6. They have Dodge Chargers with Hemis. You're still screwed. Of course, a body cam video posted on YouTune of you getting your ass tasered would be totally awesome! Besides why do you constantly want to re-create Ray Steven's "The Streak" anyway? You like the idea of "coming out of the cheap seats dribbling?"
  7. Well just be on the look out for jackets that look like this.... So are you in Minnesota now or are you still in North Carolina?
  8. Now I really want a Challenger. A club member came to the Widetracker's meeting tonight. She traded in her Roush V6 Mustang for a slightly used (e.g 12k miles) white 2014 Challenger Redline Edition with the 5.7 Hemi. It's still an R/T. Sweet car. May not be as stupid fast as GE's, but I still like it....a lot! She's promised me a ride in it too since her husband is constantly yaking. YEESSSSSSSS!
  9. One week to go. Something tells me that notallthere is brushing up on his 'mooning' skiils. Don't do it son. Same pesky state law.
  10. Awesome cars - thanks for sharing them with us. Mark - are any of those guys members of the Land of Lakes chapter of the GTOAA? I met a few of them last winter and I'd love to connect up with them again.
  11. How can they tell the difference down there - clinically? The gene pool ain't got much of a deep end.
  12. Thank you for the kind words Kay. Best of luck to you. I look forward to reading about your junk yard adventures. Be sure to take your camera or cell phone. We love pictures too.
  13. Thanks for sharing. I miss seeing the 6000s on the road. A co-worker had a white STE, your white SE brings back memories.
  14. The IQs match the number of rounds in their clips. You are expecting way too much from a gene pool that needed chlorine a long, long time ago. I suspect GE's side of the aisle will be no different.
  15. No, not really...... Scary ain't it? Looks like the bride is holding .50 caliber sniper rifle.
  16. Interesting trends. While I am trying not to be much of a nay sayer. With just over a 1000 people polled, can we consider the survey results statistically significant ? Are we, as a society, moving back to the cities though? I am a baby boomer and when I was young, people were fleeing the cities for the suburbs in droves. I see constant new construction of homes in the northern, eastern, and western Detroit suburbs. I don't think we are...at least not yet. We are certainly migrating from the northern states to the south and/or west states. The census tells us that. Yes, some revitalization in downtown Detroit has occurred to bring people back down to the riverfront area. However you get 2-3 miles away from the river front area and you are back into skid row and into places you generally don't want to be after dark. So sticking with cities with large mass transit systems for a moment. Yes, it is easy to not own a car on a daily basis, especially if parking and insurance is horrendous in these places. What happens when you want to leave the city though? Are the X, Y, and soon-to-be Z generations attracted to these large cities because they don't want to own cars. Probably not. Its probably more likely that these cities are where their jobs and careers are and the cost of living in these places makes sense to do without a car and use mass transit on a daily basis instead. However, I think these communities are more the abnormal since most medium-to-large cities don't have large subway or elevated train systems. Typically those communities have some sort of bus only mass transit systems. So are bus services going to grow in the next 10-30 years. Probably yes. Almost certainly it will within the low income groups that cannot afford a car to begin with. However, will large scale numbers of low, medium, and perhaps high income Americans turn in their cars for buses and uber/autonomous taxis? I remain a tad bit skeptical. America's love affair with the automobile is over a century old. I don't see us giving cars up in a decade or two. Pundents have predicted the death of the V8 engine for at least 30-40 years and it's still here. They also predicted we'd have Jetson flying cars too. They still aren't here. So what do you believe?
  17. JUSTA - I think the real issue is that this part has been discontinued (from what I've read online) by GM. I have not found a superseded part number either. So whatever new old stock (NOS) is out there is what's essentially left, leaving us to find junk yard parts or pay a kings ransom for the NOS stuff - like the eBay price. You and I are seeing what Kay has been experiencing. What's disappointing is the a Cadillac XLR (Caddy Corvette) has two convertible top position sensors and both are available. Both the G6 and XLR are hard top convertibles built at the same time. You'd think GM would use the same position sensor.
  18. It's also so we can come back and have the car show there again next year! Still I want to see JUSTAG6 put in action. JUSTA I hope you bring a video camera too buddy. I want to see the expression on her face once she is told she has been put in charge of notallthere ("priceless")!
  19. AW gawd no Pro!!!!!! Think of the consequences of what you are saying man!!!! A TV-show Moderators Reunion (sans one or two)!!!!!!!!! Gawd Help Us All. I will get the AV gas for the rocket powered bar stool! GE - you gonna invite 'the man' from Nashvegas? I don't mean Coy either. I figured Coy was already on the goofball invite list. Is the wedding gonna be at Petty's Garage, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, or the Pig-N-Vittles (hey its the name of a real place - I didn't make it up)? Are shotguns considered formal attire in southern weddings? What gauge is considered customary? Who gets the ammo as a wedding gift - the bride or the groom?
  20. Kay, I am not sure of where you live but here is a local (to me) example of a pick-your-own junk yard in Pontiac Michigan. In this case, it costs $2.00 just to enter the yard. https://www.u-pullandsave.com/inventory 2007 Pontiac G6 White Stock# P04373 Vin# 1G2ZH35N77410159632 When you click the details button it shows that it is a convertible.
  21. I understand your concern. With any junkyard part, it will be hit or miss. I personally would prefer to go to a yard that allows me to pick my own parts. Obviously that is not aways the case. However, you definitely want to avoid any cars that have roof damage unless they are your only choice. Also, junk yard owners are quick to pick up on hot parts, so don't be surprised if they try to gouge you a bit on price too. Have you looked at this Chevy dealership ? http://parts.royaloakschevy.com/p/SWITCH-Folding-Top/47303484/15815610.html
  22. Is the sensor out of the car? Can you see or read any writing on it (besides the part number)? Often OEM part manufacturers put both their own logo or name on a part along with a GM / AC Delco logo on the part. So it could be a Delphi, Bosch, Packard Electric, Hitachi or some other third party. Having the GM part number does help a bit though. I see one listed on eBay with an asking price of $1,000.00. Wow! That's nuts IMO. http://www.ebay.com/itm/GM-Part-15815610-/331651122358?hash=item4d37f284b6:g:8hcAAOSwPcVVtLRN&vxp=mtr Lastly, you might try calling your local junk yards to see if they have any wrecked G6 convertibles. It maybe possible to salvage the sensor from one of those cars for a lot cheaper money than this eBay asking price. Well this is not a good start. According to GM Parts Direct, this part has been discontinued. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oe-gm/15815610 According to GM Parts Direct: "GM OEM PARTS This item is a Special Order Part. Most special order parts will generally ship from our warehouse within 48-72 hours but may take up to 7-10 business days based upon their availability from General Motors before shipping from our facility in North Carolina. For parts availability questions please contact us at [email protected]."
  23. BTW - you are in charge of making sure notallthere keeps his clothes on. State law. Either that or put JUSTAG6 in charge. Now that would be hilarious!
