  1. I love the smell of unburned hydrocarbons in the morning! Apologies to Lt. Colonel Bill Kilgore.
  2. None in Joe's neighbor...but there are awesome burn out marks in the street!
  3. Somebody is taking after Indymanjoe and plans on disturbing the peace! Nice.
  4. I will grab a shirt or some other swag for you. I have a new Sta-Bil bag for ya' already. I will definitely tell Marcel you said "Hi". What's your shirt size? Yes it is a classic car and vintage swap meet. It use to be held at the GM Technical Center grounds for years. It was one of the largest area swap meets around. Two years ago they had to cancel it because they no longer had anyone in their club that was an active or retired GM employee (a requirement to host a show on GM property). So they now moved to the Knights of Columbus property in Shelby Township, near the old Packard Proving grounds and the home of Inline Tube. Last year it was a real dud because it rained real bad and kept vendors away. This year the vendors were stronger but it still was not like the Tech Center days. I am not certain how soon before I can work on Lucy again. The wife is starting to get real anal about cleaning the house for the kid's high school open house that is 2 months away. She wants me to start limiting my nights out during the week because the kid has tied up every weekend with travel baseball between now and then too. So time we would spend cleaning the house on weekends is shot with baseball. I am going to be a serious grouch when that party gets here if I am not already in jail.
  5. Yeowza! We definitely don't want to grenade any motors here! Good thing you found it when you did. I am having no luck with Lucy right now. She needs a tune up but I've even had time for that yet as I am still working on getting the top to work. I installed the new hydraulic lines I got from NPD Saturday afternoon since it finally stopped raining here. Transmission fluid totally soaked and saturated the original replacement sound deadener and dynomat underneath the rear passenger seat. So I had to cut that up and throw it away just to soak up the remaining spilled fluid and then I cleaned up area with brake cleaner. Once I got the new lines run and in position, I tried to hook them up to the original lift rams. The bottoms went in fine, but the top are plastic threads and they would not start and I was afraid of stripping them. I got out the old hoses back out and sure enough, there is a difference in thread size and pitch between the old and new hoses. So after the Bearing Burner's Swap Meet on Sunday, I had to run back down to NPD and buy two new rams. The new rams do work with the new hoses and the top fitting is made of metal and not plastic. So instead of $106 for new hoses, I am into this repair for about $350 (not including replacing the small piece of dynomat and sound deadener) . So my plans to run Lucy down Route 66 this weekend to the Pontiac-Oakland Museum in Pontiac Illinois have officially been scrapped.
  6. Sounds like George Jetson to me!!!! See how well things worked out for him, especially while walking Astro! Rutro!!!
  7. I am still waiting for the personal jet packs we were all suppose to be flying around in by now.
  8. 233 VOE equipped '70 GTOs are thought to have been built before GM execs pulled the plug on that option after the infamous "The Humbler" commercial hit the airways. The commercial lasted only 30 days before it was forever pulled from the TV airwaves. Another rare but interesting option is a '72 GTOs or Lemans with the duck tail spoiler. Only a hand full of cars were built (no published production numbers) before the mold broke and instead of repairing it, Pontiac dropped the option instead. The same fate happened to the Can-Am spoiler mold in 1977 leading the demise of the Can-Am production after only 1,377 examples. You can now purchase an accurate reproduction of this spoiler from the aftermarket.
  9. Welcome to FP! Please give us a little more information. Does your Grand Lemans have a 2-bbl or 4-bbl carburetor? Is it the original or has it been replaced? Pictures of your intake and carb will help too. Have you taken any carburetor cleaner to the carb and choke assembly and thoroughly cleaned off any gunk and fuel varnish that might have accumulated on it over the last 38 years? In many cases, a sticking choke is solved by a thorough cleaning. If you have already tried that, let us know and we will move forward from there.
  10. Awesome G6 convertible. Thanks for sharing it with us!
  11. Here are my picks for some of the rarest Pontiacs. 3 '72 GTO station wagons built as an employee lark in the Framington Mass plant but they did get built before management put a stop to any more getting built. 3 '63 421 SD Grand Prixs 8 '69 Trans Am convertibles 14 '63 421 SD Lemans and Tempest wagons - built just before GM's ban on racing 14 '63 "Swiss Cheese" 421 SD Catalinas 17 '71 GTO Judge convertibles 25 '70 Lemans Jury's - Stampede Pontiac dealer creation (Alberta Canada) 26 '78 Macho Trans Ams - Mecham Motors creation (Phoenix Arizona) 43 '73 SD-455 Firebird Formulas (only 10 are 4-speeds) 58 '74 SD-455 Firebird Formulas (no break out between automatics and manuals)
  12. The carproof link says the car is clean.
  13. So call them up and make an offer over the phone. I am sure someone with any cash is better than a no bid. I've never seen any government agency say "no" to money. Of course, bid low since you will have to spend a lot of time and gas on TransCanada 1 to bring it home.
  14. How many is that do you think? The same number as the number of licks it takes to get to the center of Tootsie Roll Pop?
  15. Is this the least collectible Pontiac of all time? Time will tell. http://autoweek.com/article/classic-cars/least-collectible-pontiac-ever Other forgotten Canadian-only Pontiacs: Arcadian - version of the Vega and later the Chevette Tempest - version of the Corsica Firefly - version of the Geo Metro G2 - version of the Daewoo Miatz / Chevy Spark Sunrunner - version of the Geo Tracker/Suzucki Sidekick
  16. Yeah, more "dough-ray for me" with more people coming to his wedding. Apparently I'm one of them.
  17. Pro wishes he could forget. Kinda like a bad bar stool encounter he once had too.
  18. Absolutely. You just have to keep your clothes on while doing it. Obscenity laws, public ordinance and all that.
  19. Sadly I am screwed this year. I am on the organizing committee but I have been informed by the boss that we are quadruple booked for that day. We have a weddding to go to in addition to my nephews birthday party. So I won't be there.
