  1. Nice work Eric. My C6 runs Billy Boat bullets with no resonator or cats with LG motorsports long tubes. Luckily I got cool neighbors that like it.
  2. Hey is that bearing burners swap meet a vintage and classic parts swap meet? We have one here the first Sunday of every month that I attended this past Sunday, I haven't been in years. Good time, didn't find or buy anything I did or did not need. Hope to see your luck turn for the better Frosty. I haven't driven the GTO in over a month. Its the longest I've had her on the stands and off the road since I've owned her. Hope to have her tires rolling down the road next week.
  3. New/used pulley stripped and ready for the powdercoater shop.
  4. I think some of the rarest Pontiacs could be the swiss cheese era Darksider or large bodied factory built race cars from the early 60's. The Ram Air 5 motored cars, the 1970 VOE exhaust optioned GTO's, and the 70's era T-37 455 optioned cars get down into the single digit produced numbers as well. A friend of mine here in Tampa has a LeMans/T-37 in 1+ rated concours condition with a documented race pedigree that was optioned out to like 1 of 2 built.
  5. I was there for that Mecum Kissimmee 2016 auction that hosted not one, but two of those 8 T/A convertibles, both were "NO SALES" if I recall correctly at $1.2 million and $1.4 million respectively. Beautiful cars for sure. They also had a 69 T/A clone with an LS motor and modern suspension that sold in the low 6 figure range.
  6. Glad that I decided to park this car until I found out what was wrong. Not too many RPM's left in this pulley!
  7. C'mon brother, I would have never expected you to catch that one. I bet it happened when I put on new belts and tightened up the squeaky power steering pump. belt. Hell I didn't even notice that the pulley required or was missing a reinforcement plate. No worries my brother. Now Frosty, to answer the volleyball question with a theory? Have you ever noticed in every picture with the volleyball team that Justa is always surrounded with hot volleyball women? Just sayin'. He works smarter, not harder.
  8. The car was thoroughly inspected before purchase but you certainly can't catch it all. I was the dumbass that drove it for 2 years and never caught it so in the end, its really on me.
  9. Its funny because I went online to try and find the reinforcement plate with not much luck, so just on a hunch I went to the original motor sitting in the corner of the garage and BINGO, not only the plate but the original bolts holding it to the balancer as well. Just gotta find some room on a credit card to order a new pulley. I looked up the numbers on the pulley and wouldnt you know, Its not even for a GTO but a Trans Am, lol. Its amazing what people will throw together and sell on the internet, ha ha.
  10. So back under the car working on restoring the chassis up to my standard so everything striped to bare metal, primered and recoated in some form of restoration paint. Rotors, calipers, frame, control arms, coils, sway bars, inner fender wells, etc. also discovered that elusive engine knock that has been kicking my butt for months, thank GOD it wasn't internal. A cracked lower crankshaft accessory drive pulley. Wrong bolts and no reinforcement ring used caused cracks around 3 out of 4 of the pulley bolts. This will be another upcoming project after I restore the other fenderwell and order a new pulley.
  11. What if Pontiac was offered as a limited edition or exclusive release, say take the Camaro and do the Trans Am conversion? Or the CTS-V and offer an old name badge?
  12. its just such a revered and classic wheel. Thanks for the support.
  13. Hopefully gonna burn some tax money this weekend on a new set of shoes fitted to some Cragar SS's
  14. Interesting reading http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/enthusiasts/a-case-for-pontiacs-return/ar-BBzrXvP
  15. Thank you Steve. I really like the way this car is coming together. I purchased the filler piece that covers the space between the radiator support and the front nose to direct even more air thru the radiator. She ran around town all day at 185 degrees with the new clutch fan. Wither the old flex fan, Quieter, smoother running too.
  16. Between the inner valence support bracket that has the plate bracket mounts on it and the plate bracket itself, that's $100. $40 in powder coating, $40 in decals. $10 for the plate, $10 for mounting hardware. The good thing is, I got good parts and did the job right so hopefully I don't have to deal with it again. The fan, used, $60. My friend has a sandblasting cabinet and I just bought lunch for its use. some masking tape and a good black enamel, again, mounting hardware. So maybe $100 in the fan. NOW you know why these cars are demanding so much money!!!
  17. Just for looks, it was a rare option on the car as well. You gotta really love this restoration stuff, after all the parts, powdercoating, hardware, decals, and the plate my total ticket was close to $200 just to say I have a front plate on the car. lol. We gotta be out of our minds.
  18. So this weeks completed projects on the GTO as follows: Made a new set of spark plug wires that wern't 6-8 inches too long. Located, purchased, restored (sandblasted, repainted) an original radiator fan and clutch. Replaced a very noisy flex fan. Bought all the brackets to provide a place to mount a front license plate and had them powdercoated. I installed a plate of my own layout and design.
  19. Richard Rawlings is a straight up punk! A man is only as good as his word and he broke it numerous times.
  20. Justin bought Marty Palbykin's car over on the Performance Years forum. That car was already set up for a twin turbo mill so it should be an easy conversion. Cheif is on that forum as well if your looking to keep up with the latest news on his new door car and the Cro Mod.
  21. damn i got a "turn my head sideways" crick in my neck now. Where is Marco Island? I mighta gone to this one....
  22. If you are worried about the hoarding aspect, Buy another, send out for conversion or buy one converted, swap them and then sell the first one and recoup some of your money. AND not be a hoarder. I like hanging on to that kind of stuff as it is getting scarce. I bought an extra power trunk release just because. If your not OCD as I am, then let it ride and just correct the time once you get to the car show.
