haha yeah this was on Jalopnik.

it make it to my regular forum fast being that its the gen civic and CRX we cover. i concluded that he got the steering wheel cover first, and then just built the car around that.

despite all the TERRIBLE modifications done to that car, they really are fun to drive. they weigh 1800 pounds soaking wet and are pretty much glorified go karts.

i have owned three, altho never for very long.

clogged cat killed #1,

#2 was a project, and

#3 was an ex grassroots motorsports challenge car, bought for parts for #2.

they were stripped rolling chassis, in the middle of the motor swap faze, when someone broke in and rolled them into each other, and windows smashed. they effectively destroyed EVERY good part of each car, and managed NOT to touch any of the bits that i planned on replacing.

later the guy got caught, with my tenacity helping. i planned on staking out the scene (because he kept coming back) with a paintball gun. the guy at the paintball store ending up being a SLED officer (south carolina 5-0) that KNEW who it was from his nickname he wrote in the dust in the windows. that helped them find him since they didnt even know he was in that area, and moving the search for him to that area led to his capture

that guy got a 29 year sentence w/o parole, for many violations including possession and sale of a firearm. he was 19. they said he cried like a baby. i never got anything out of it, except for the satisfaction of justice. it wasn't enough, but it was something

figured you guys might like that story.
