Hi, I am retired since 2011 from Lockheed Martin. Since then have become an author of 8 poetry books. I am almost 78. Born and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota., but work transfered me to Colorado in 1986, then Great Neck, NY in 1991, then back to Minnesota in 1996. Over my life I’ve owned 3 Pontiacs. I loveded them all. The first was a 1977 Grand Am bought new that year. , Maroon color with a front end spoiler. Unfortunately my wife totaled it in 1990 after hitting black ice coming down Cheyenne mountain in Colorado Springs, broke axel and undercarriage. After that bought a Ford Ranger 4x4. In 1996 bought a new Grand Am, also maroon. Had that until 2024 when we traded it in on a Jeep Compass for my daughter. Then in 2007 bought a new G6 Hardtop convertible. Still own it. Have a problem might discuss later.

One correction. Not a 1977 Grand Am, it was 1987. Typo. I couldn’t find a picture of it, but here is about what it looked like.. with the spoiler bumper. Mine was a darker maroon color. I should also remember (how could I forget this. When I met her, my wife had a 1972 sliver Mustang hatchback . That was one of several reasons that attracted me to her. I found a couple pictures of it. That was me camping with it. The other is of Karen with it. I also found a photo the 1996 Grand Am. It’s the exact color the 1987 was. Finally I added some shots of my G6 in the photo gallery.

The Top and everything but the engine works fine. Never had any trouble with the top, and used it all the time . Wherever I went I always put the top back up. So sometimes used several times a day over the last 19 + years I owned it. Even the A/C works.

One more detail. In 1963 my dad bought a blue 63 Pontiac Lemans. It looked exactly like this. This is just like the care I dated in while I was in High school. I guess you could say Pontiacs were in my blood. I was devastated when GM stopped making them.
