can I change the sealed beams in my 70 lemans to halogen or led lights? I think there be no problem.

Hopefully in your part of the world you wont get kick back from the powers that are!!

Here in nz we cant fit led to any car that was not factory fitted with them !!!(

i found that out the hard way when i installed the super expensive phillips leds into my 59 !

and i went in for my warrant of fittness check.... which is a nz thing ! and i was told to remove them ,
so best check with your gate keepers first Bob cheers

Here in the states or at least Michigan, you cannot have red or blue lights on the front of your car. You could get hit with impersonating an officer. Also red tells you that your looking at the back of a vehicle. Yellow marker lights in front and red in rear will tell you direction of travel from a look at the side of the car. White lights with Yellow turnsigs are the front of the car. I don't see the prob, but the night glow lights under cars are not legal here as well (ON THE ROAD) Claim it's too much distraction. It does make you look twice. You shouldn't have a prob upgrading to halogen.

Welcome Bob! Assuming what JUSTA and Kiwi noted does not apply to you in Rhode Island, then yes you can upgrade your headlights. I did it with my ‘72 Lemans Sport Convertible. See the attached thread, page 80. I documented the before and after.

I purchased halogen T3 replicas from Octane Lighting. Two hi and two low beam bulbs. Cost about $200 in 2021. Plug and play.
