In case you haven't heard, Pontiac will turn 100 years old in 2026. To help celebrate that, the Pontiac-Oakland Club International's 54th annual national convention will be held in Pontiac Michigan from June 23-27, 2026. Host hotel and convention registration is available at the link below. This year's host chapters will be the Motor City POCI and Michigan WIdetrackers. That means a lot of us Michigan-based FP members will be there! Come join us, won't you?

So who is coming to Pontiac this summer for the convention? I am already registered!

I would Frosty but I am already registered for the annual Solstice & Sky get together east of Toronto for that same week, but if they turn me around at the boarder I will be there!

I am working with the Firebird chapter to organize an informal Woodward Dream Cruise run, starting around 5 pm on Tuesday from the host hotel. Dinner at Nicky D’s Coney Island and try to get Individual driving shots in front of Vinsetta Garage.

In addition to the cruise, I have volunteered to help with registration on Monday and Wednesday. I also have to host the GMC chapter meeting on Friday. I will be working with the Widetrackers to host and stage the 100th anniversary parade into Pontiac Friday night.

I may also be doing some airport shuttle duty.

So you will be working with my wife at registration on Monday. She was recruited by Scott several weeks ago.

Awesome! I told Paul Bergstrom personally a few months ago and I just told the same thing to Tim Dye a week ago. Are you bringing the ‘31 or something else?

Unfortunately the ‘31 won’t be making it to the convention. Getting the body ready for paint has been a lot bigger challenge than I anticipated. As of now it looks like we will be driving our Terrain.

Sneak preview time.....two new GMC's just arrived at the PTM. I was given a sneak peak from Terry Connolly, the PTM Director, after the convention update meeting last week. There is a third GMC that the PTM got, but it is under wraps for now. I am sworn to secrecy until it is officially unveiled, but it is cool....and rare.

I had a parade planning meeting tonight at the PTM. I found out we have a Grand Marshall for the parade! It’s going to be the beautiful Christy Lee from All Girls Garage! She grew up In Detroit and she owns her grandfather’s Catalina!

The parade is going to be capped at 300 cars max. Right now we have over 800 people registered for the convention!!!!

The PTM is also working on a new entrance to the building. The main entrance will shift from the side of the building, closest to the small parking lot, to the front of the building on Pike Street. There you will find the first set of paver bricks! This new entrance will be open for the convention, according to Tim Dye.

POCI Convention starts tomorrow. Another busy / silly week for me with tons of commitments and activities.

Not sure if I will have too many photos to post for the first few days. Mostly set-up, registration, tech inspection and some welcome events. Friday and Saturday are the big days with the Friday parade with grand marshall Christy Lee, and the main show event on Saturday.
