I have done this for years to get more leverage on a nut or bolt. It is not a great practice for the life of your wrenches but it works. Just do not bring that fact up when turning them in for lifetime warranty.

A couple years ago I picked up one of these. I think mine is the 15in one. Trust me I did not pay that much for them. It works good but the smooth surface does not do well with gloves on. I have the dip for tool handles somewhere and I will put a rubberized coating on it.
