2025 Back to the Bricks Dust 'Em Off Car Show

Featured Replies

This year's Back to the Bricks outdoor car show season kicked off the Dust 'Em Off. We were in a new location this year. In the past several years, we have been at the Dort Financial Credit Center (formerly known as the IMA Sports Arena), home of the Flint Firebird's OHL hockey team. Today, we were at the former GM Customer Care and Aftersales World HQ building in Grand Blanc Michigan. This was the former HQ for GM's Service Parts Operations (SPO or GM SPO to us long time GMers). This will be the future home of the GM Heritage Collection. No idea when that conversion will happen, but it is clear that some work has begun.

The car show was an open show - they reported around 1000 pre-registered cars and over 1100 cars at one point. This was Lucy's first show of the year.

The weather was not good. While it didn't rain like it did at the Pontiac Transportation Museum yesterday, however, it was cloudy, cool (high around 55F) but the wind chill made it feel more like the low 40s. It was definite hat and coat weather.

I've loved this Lemans for a long time. He is a featured vehicle this year with the Back to the Bricks. My only complaint is that it is a blown big block Chevy and not a Pontiac motor.

Think the front-end ends down here in Florida

Jealous though of both the weather (its over 90F here today) and the cars!

Man - it looks cold there. Shouldn't you guys be thawing out about now getting ready for the start of your summer?

We are running about 20 degrees below normal right now. We had a couple of teaser 80+F days last week, before the weekend. Cold fronts from Canada keeping us in the Midwest colder than normal. Most of this spring has been colder than normal while the rest of the country has been heating up!  Feels like old man winter wants to take up residence here.

I always joke about summer in the Upper Peninsula or Canada. How can you tell if it is summer in Canada? It’s the three months of bad sledding!

The show was held at the former GM Serivce Parts Operations (SPO) World HQ facility (was also called GM Customer Care and Aftersales - what a terrible name) in Grand Blanc Michigan. It will be the future home of the GM Heritage Collection. It appears some work is being done. No idea or ETA when it will done or when the cars will be moved there.

We held the official 70th anniversary of the Corvette party here too. All 300 of the '53 Corvettes were built here in nearby Flint Michigan. In '54, Corvette production moved to St. Louis.
