Keystone State Chapter’s 50th Anniversary Celebration Fall GM Show

Our chapter has been celebrating our 50 years as the oldest continuously operating chapter all year and today was our last show of the year.  We had 76 cars pre-registered (more than triple the previous year’s number) and had high hopes of a 200+ vehicle event.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. We had rain almost all week leading up to the show and despite not raining today at the event, roads in the immediate area were still wet and showers were forecast in areas around us.
We managed to attract 105 cars anyway including 28 Pontiacs, 1 Oakland, and 1 GMC (455 Pontiac powered!)

A lot of very nice Pontiacs there. I always enjoy seeing pictures of other cars shows, especially ones I know that I wouldn't be able to attend. Thanks for sharing. 👍

This is how we learn and share our experiences. Once I retire, there is a whole host of out of state shows I'd like to attend like this one.

Wholeheartedly agree Frosty!  That is my plan when (if??) I can get the hot rod finished. 👍

Wanna race? I’m retiring in May!

I am afraid you will get there first Frosty.  I retired in 2020 when Covid hit and have been making progress, but it seems that the more I do, the more I find that needs to be done.😬

31pontiac, I’ve owned Lucy for almost 30  years now, and my Trans Am almost 40. They are never “done”! It’s JUSTA a matter  of at what point do we start driving them.

...lol, only if we're racing wheel chairs. 😆😆

I was fortunate enough to get to drive it around the yard now and then since 2022 to insure that everything I had done was working properly.  During that time several people asked me if I was going to get it roadworthy and drive it for a year or so before tearing it down for detailing, paint, and upholstery.  My answer was no, because after it was inspected and licensed I probably wouldn’t want to take it off the road and rip it apart.
I began disassembly several months ago, carefully bagging and tagging pieces as I removed them, hoping that upon reassembly it goes together as one large model kit 🤣.  The plan is to drive it to the 2026 POCI Convention with hopefully some short trips before then.  It has been 25 years since I started this project, but have owned the car since 1975.

We will see you there. Our chapter (Michigan WIdetrackers) and the Motor City Chapter will be hosting the 2026 POCI Convention here in Pontiac. It's the 100th anniversary of Pontiac. So JUSTA, JUSTAG6, Indymanjoe, and I will be there. Probably busting our asses off working the convention but we'll be there!!!!

I know all too well about busting your asses working at POCI conventions as my wife and I were heavily involved planning and working at all 3 here in PA.  Planning on being there for the 100th !!  Anxious to meet all of you there if not before!

I'm stressing as the GMC chapter president. They want a GMC Homecoming too since Pontiac was home to soooo many GMC vehicles too. Ugh.
