Has the younger generation love for “Rice-Burner’s” Damaged the Muscle car followers/Lovers?

Recommended Posts

To a degree I would say definitely .  We must look at this as both a negative & a positive.  The cost of fuel makes it tough for anyone to afford.  Hollywood supports rice burners with movies like The Fast and the Furious.

I hate the new desire for rice but the good news is it gives us more choice of the remaining vintage car available.

i am old school vintage Muscle Forever.

While it's mainly younger ricers out there.  The vast majority of KIDS don't want anything to do with cars.  Seems getting your hands dirty affects the playstation controlers.  So important to grab a kid N get him/her interested and keep em interested for the sake of our obsession.  They will be the next ones to carry the torch.  We all know the cost to restore and keep our gems on the road.  That is the next hurdle kids face.

My answer is yes and no. I agree with the comments that today's youth aren't that interested in cars, period. They would continue to have mommy and daddy chauffeur their butts around if they thought they could get away with it or call an Uber. Also, they've been brainwashed into believing that rice burners are the only way to go for the environment. Blah.

The other thing to consider is that these rice burners are our cheap, throw away cars of their generation, just like we had old $500 Chevelles, GTOs, Buicks, Mustangs and pickup trucks. This was the source of our hot rod material and our generation. So modifying a Honda Civic, a Toyota Corolla, or an S-10 pickup is today's $500 car (metaphorically speaking). It's all part of hot rodding, just with half as many cylinders.
