McDonald's Cadillac/GMC Swap Meet - 1/30/22 Saginaw Michigan

I stopped in at the 44th annual McDonald's Cadillac/GMC swap meet today. I had the right day today. This is a small indoor swap meet that is held in the service bay area of the dealership. Kiwi and Fitzy asked me to take some pictures of an American swap meet so here you go lads. This is a very small indoor winter swap meet. You never know what you will find.

The most important part of the swap meet - the ladies bake sale area. MMMMmmmm.....cookies!

If I had a flathead Ford, this would have been an awesome table. Old aluminum Edelbrock triple deuce intakes and Offenhauser heads.

A portable hand held tach for tuning up cars. I bought it. I had never seen one before. Add it to my AC memorabilia too.

A Buick Nailhead dual quad intake and matching Carter carbs. A very nice and rare piece.

Only $425 gets you this magnificent piece of Buick wall art! '66 or '67 GS or Skylark I'd guess.

Outside the door was this neat trailer made from old Model A parts. It was not for sale.

Alas my buddy Jeff, who usually brings misc. Pontiac stuff let me down. He hardly brought any Pontiac parts. I asked about the parts that Fitzy and Kiwi were looking for. He didn't have any at the moment. I gave him the parts list. He'll be on the look out for more Bonnevilles and Grand Prixes though.

Nope. My mate and I had breakfast at a nearby Cracker Barrel dinner (decided against Tony's this time around). Had pancakes, eggs, and bacon instead.

"Small" swap meet. Still a lot of neat stuff!

Yup. Small since it is only in the service receiving and work bay areas of the dealership. There are larger venues around the state - both indoors and outdoors that host large vendors and tables. When my kid came home with COVID in early January, I had to miss the Detroit area (Novi Suburban Center) show. That would have been a much larger show. Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds swap meet is next weekend but I'm not certain we're going with this huge snowstorm rolling in this week (expecting 8-15 inches at the moment).

Thanks Frosty - great pics. I take it that's you on the mobility scooter? Mate - your 'small' swap meet shames anything I've seen here in Oz. Trailer loads of rusty crap at stratospheric prices AND no array of home baked goodies. Thanks for trying for our parts - let's see what your buddy comes up with.

The swap meet season is young Fitzy. Lots more opportunities between now, and this spring and summer.

I'm hoping Jeff comes up with something too. I'll see him on and off this year too. In addition to some swap meets, he shows up at a local cruise pretty regularly too.
