First gen is no surprise at all since there are only 8 of them built and a total 669 total TAs built.

Second gen is a little surprising given the Super Duty TAs and Formulas of 73 and 74.

Third gen was good choice with the Firehawk but it ignores the 89 Turbo V6 Pace Car

Fourth gen was also a safe choice with the Firehawk but what about the uber rare Comp TAs? Especially if you are going after one of eight 69 TA convertibles.......justa saying.

I think I would put my mom's on this list. I think if more people knew they existed they would be worth more. 1977 Pontiac Skybird. They came stock with a V6 but you could upgrade to a 301 or in my mom's case it was ordered with the 350, louvered back window and color matched snowflake rims. Truly a ladies car as it was meant to bring women into the sports car market. If we ever want to make mom smile we just have our daughters ask her to take them for a ride in it. She'll chirp the tires and says woops as she rips down the road.

The Espirit Skybird, Redbird, and Yellowbird edition Firebirds are definitely rare. However, as I have said before in this forum, rare does not necessarily mean valuable.

These are fine cars in their own right - they just won't be fetching 6+ figures any time soon. However, to those who own and love them - they are priceless. What a wonderful ride.

Six figures .... nope but neither were some on that list five figures yup more like it. Should be a bit more than your average and the longer we care for them the more rare and desirable they become. This one was rated at level next to never been driven. For a collector I definitely recommend finding at least one of the three.

Surprised that the Special Ordered (Only way to get one New)...3rd and 4th gen 1LE cars...Weren't mentioned...Guess they fall into the category of ultra rare but not particularity popular or valuable...???

You will also notice that no Pace Cars  editions make the list. Surely the '89 Turbo Trans Am Pace Car is considered rare and valuable (I know, I know, don't call you Sherly!).

For me the holy grail of Pontiac Firebird will always be the 1969 Trans Am. Oh yea...... Cheers.
