Top Gear America

So.... i thought that there was a thread for this but i guess i was wrong.

Top Gear is now on History Channel and the show's presenters are professional racing driver Tanner Foust, actor and comedian Adam Ferrara, and Rutledge Wood, an automotive and racing analyst.

Well i just saw Episode 1 of Top Gear America... i have to say...

NOT FEELING IT.

i am giving it a chance but i just dont think that they will be as entertaining or funny as the BBC and original version of the show.

To me it seems that they are trying too hard to recreate the dynamics that the Clarkson, Hammond and James May have. first off they are not that funny and the analogies that they use just, well they just are not the same. The show (on my DVR) is recording every Friday at 9:00p CST.

You should all check it out and make your own conclusions but as of now i am not a fan. Give me the original all day.

I made a thread on xceed about it. It got to 4 pages with everyone saying how dry and boring the dialogue was.

Tanner Foust can drive, but god he is the worst host ever.

The fat bearded guy has some potential tho.

The original version will always be better. It's THE Top Gear, period.

Spent some time discussing this today but it seems that it is the stars that make Top Gear, not just the cars, discussions, etc...

Without Clarkson, Hammond and May, its just not Top Gear to me.

Yes.

I watched the first part of the Top Gear America episode but it really bored me. I gave up after that. I didn't laugh once and the navigator guy WOULD NOT STOP SCREAMING. I mean, yeah that copter was wicked but do you need to constantly shriek? I'm a girl and I don't scream that damn much! Anyway. I will stick to the only Top Gear there is in my book. Besides, British humo(u)r is so much better than American! (I was just having this conversation with my roommate, haha.)

I read some people saying that the show gets better later in the season as the guys get their rhythm with each other.

I've still only seen the first season of Top Gear UK. I've gotta dig out those DVDs.
