The Discovery Channel is advertising a new show called "Trans Am" that is debuting on October 2, 2018. This show appears to be about the company Trans Am Depot and Trans Am Worldwide. Let's hope this is an interesting show.

Confused what exactly the show will be. Will it be them building the cars?

I suspect so. I also know that they buy and rebuild/restore older, original Trans Ams as well. I'm hoping it is the best of both worlds. I mean who wouldn't want a 1,000 HP Trans Am - even if it was based on the 5th-gen Camaro? I'd still drive it like I stole it.

Meh...it's ok.

One big turnoff-The brother that runs the shop that works on original Trans Ams said he was a stickler for originality, but he swapped out the Pontiac 400 for an LS motor in the '78 they were restoring. 

Sadly, it's about as exciting as watching clear coat dry. Wait, I was actually excited when we got our '72 redone...;) it looks like everyone gets a brand new LS motor so it's cool if you don't mind getting rid of that old period correct motor you've been hanging on to for all these years. Bleh.

Agree - I'm not at all a fan of LS's.  I'm willing to watch a few more episodes to see if they introduce any variety, but if that's all we're going to see then it's not going to hold my interest.

Well get ready the next episode has yet another ls swap the reason I asked about thoughts on the show is I personally know these guys and don't think very highly of them the idea for the new cars came from a designer not what was said on the show 

So, the customer explicitly said he wanted to keep the Olds 455 and this moron LS swaps it anyway?  How dumb can one person get?
