  1. Honestly, I think it's beyond stupid each major continent has their own different safety/lighting requirements. In Europe, you need reflectors but not a certain color, so they're clear. But cars NEED amber rear signals and they need to be seperate stop, tail and turn lights on top of a rear fog light. In NA, there needs to be amber reflectors up front, but no real requirements for the tail lights, so that's why we see so many red signaled tails on cars here and/or tails that have stop/turn/tail bulbs as one. Kinda stupid, IMO. Make one universal requirement for all cars globally.
  2. In all seriousness, I'd hate to see the guy spend a ton of money and not be happy with the result.
  3. Going by the car's odd amber tails and rear fog, it may have been exported.
  4. I've never seen a true lift kit for that platform. It would need to be either: One off custom parts, which will cost A LOT to have fabricated. Or, take the time (a lot of time) to find out what can be mixed and matched for a taller ride. But that also means comparing spring rates, too. Even then, it's basically still a car chassis (CUV problems) and the suspension articulation will still be extremely limited to that of an actual truck. In the end, you'll get parts wearing out faster for just 2 inches of lift and at what cost?
  5. Welcome to the forums! Any more plans for the GTO?
  6. It happens a lot when I'm in my work van on deliveries. Oh, I'm sorry I want to keep my 8300lb van AT THE SPEED LIMIT.
  7. That Altima doesn't even sound bad at all.
  8. Yeah, you still over on FullThrottleV6? I forgot my password for there...lol
  9. Holy crap, it still lives! Glad to see the engine back together. Shit, glad to see you come back here, too!
  10. Well, to actually give the club a sense of purpose outside of going to shows, I would want to support certain charities. Supporting Autism Awareness is important to me (for very personal reasons) so that would be one example. We would support other clubs local to us, go to shows together, maybe even host shows and have somewhere for other car folk to gather and have a good time. Well, club members would have to stay, for example if we host a show, they need to be around to help clean, direct people and keep organisation.
  11. November 2013 they left the NA market, the only thing from Suzuki sold here now are their motorcycles, quads, scooters and outboard marine engines. Which my dealership shifted to, as Suzuki gave them the opportunity to stay with the company as a bike dealership. Motorcycles and quads are a WHOLE different ballgame compared to cars... OH! Check out the Off Topic forum when you get the chance, I know you're as much of a Sonic fan as I am, I've posted my play through vids there, you might enjoy those. =]
  12. Care to watch my play through videos at all? The past few weeks this has caught my attention to do, AND THEY'RE SO MUCH FUN TO DO! Also, you guys get to hear what I actually sound like now. Check out my series playing the stellar fan game, Sonic After the Sequel!
  13. Yup. That's what my dealership does with Suzuki. But geez, what a mixed bag of crap Suzuki had through the 2000's... The GM/Daewoo sourced models they were given were just...bleh. The Suzuki Forenza/Reno was based off of the Daewoo Lacetti, which was also sold as the Chevy Lacetti in other parts of the world. Fun fact, the Lacetti still lives on, we just buy them as a Chevy Cruze. The Forenza/Reno/Lacetti were plagued with coolant/head gasket issues (notice a pattern? ) but their resale value has dropped like a rock. None of them are even worth more than $3K on the used market anymore. Suzuki also got the Daewoo sourced Magnus, sold here as the Verona. GM had their variant called the Chevy Epica, which were sold for a brief time in Canada. The 07-09 Suzuki XL-7 was all GM stuffs, it's a bastard child of the 1st gen Equinox and Traverse. And just like its sister cars, it was plagued with timing chain issues with its 3.6L DOHC LY7 variant. People either love them, or despise them. Suzuki's only actual models were the SX4, which was a popular and affordable compact, the Grand Vitara (Escudo in Japan) and later the Kizashi. But sales weren't good enough, and people weren't buying up SX4s and Grand Vitaras anymore and the Kizashi just started to pick up steam when Suzuki pulled the plug on its North American branch.
  14. By federal law, there needs to be at least eight years of support for parts and service to keep the last cars with warranties and such on the road.
  15. I think the G8 didn't do so well because they made the V6 model look like the GT, and didn't really distinguish the base and GT well.
  16. I had my Grand Am for over seven years. I knew it inside and out not out of curiosity, but necessity because of the issues I was always trying to fix. As for the other models, near the end of Pontiac, it was GM being GM. They didn't want to fully invest in the brand, so they kept badge engineering new models. The G5 was so painfully obvious that it was a Cobalt. The G3 was a joke, just like the Aveo. As for the G-names, I thought it was stupid. Even if the G8 was sold as the Pontiac Commodore, it might have sold better. But it was a redundant problem.
  17. The problem with a lot of the younger guys today isn't really the older guys, but they have such short attention spans. Because of instagram, a lot of guys just want attention, and don't seem to function well in an organised club it seems. Car meets won't even last long with them, as they'll chat with their friends, get "bored" because either crowds aren't gathering around their cars or they want to drive. Me personally, if I ran a car club, I'd have a basic criteria to meet (so no complete stockers or junkboxes want in) and have some meets and shows to go to. Most of all, they STAY the whole time with the club at a meet or show.
  18. Worst case, use adapters. Just factor in the size they are with whatever offset wheel you choose for a good fitment.
