  1. Going to license office [ your DMV] & get it transferred into my name & plated today & pay the "sorid" 13% sales tax on tax appraisal value + all the other fees they can rip me off for!!! Doesn't really need a lot other than A/C & I noticed a broken wire going to compressor ??? I'll play with it over next month or 2 till snow gone and salt washed off roads
  2. Well it arrived here around 4 PM was loaded in a blizzard yesterday and was still covered in snow inside trailer. 74 Grandville Brougham convertible and "LOADED" 455 4bbl duals. 64,500 miles built in Fairfax Kansas & have contacted PHS to get the "scoop" on it! Not a noise from engine !!! A/C doesn't work but everything there & even has the belt on it??? Only non stock" thing is the stereo!!
  3. Car picked up last night by my transport guy around 5:oo pm. in enclosed trailer. Should be here late this afternoon all going well!!!
  4. Pictures "should" be self explanatory??? 1964 Catalina 2+2 and 51 Pontiac [CDN] Torpedo back coupe!! Cat sold years ago & 51 "lost" in garage fire!
  5. Frosty, vapour lock would have symptoms of sputtering [ running out of gas] by description this is "just shutting off" !!! Would be nice to know when it happens if it's got spark before it decides to start again !!!! Could also be a bad coil in HEI cap???
  6. HEI distributors {stock] have a problem of the wires from reluctor pick up partially breaking and cause intermittent ignition failure, your "flamethrower" might have the same problem. advance mechanism tugs on these "tiny wires " and eventually break enough to give ign. stop & go problems??
  7. Couple more things to remove and your into a "FRAME OFF"!!!!! We expect the frame to be sandblasted, epoxy coated, [ or "chromed" ] dump the KAWOY for a 421 & Muncie 4 speed and a good set of "slicks " out back & OH YA wheely bars!!!
  8. Welcome Jill from the "great White North" of Ontario Canada. Glad to see you here!! Pete
  9. I realize this is a old post but my girlfriend has one of these "TORRMENTS" and I noticed you changed battery, as I did & it set off about 22 codes on OBDII reader!! I had all codes removed and so far so good !! I think you have a computer problem or even a possible oil pressure sensor that's telling engine to "SHUT DOWN" ???
  10. New car to be picked up sometime next week by private transport company "way up" in northern Ontario !! Weather permitting!!! Yes it's a "TIN INDIAN" I'll kept you folks in suspense until it arrives in enclosed trailer!!!!!!!
  11. I don't know where or who bought it in N Z as it was bought through a " broker" [ or 3rd. party] here in Ontario, but on inspection he called NZ and said my 64 was "way better" than the last 63 Impala 327 4 speed he /she? had bought previously and " It's a 409" and a real one!!! So keep your eye out, have no idea when it's going on the boat, Red 2 dr coupe w/ black interior with Torque Thrust D's mags or they might put the stock wheels & spinner S/S wheel discs back on???
  12. Sold the 64 Impala 409 4 speed to a broker for buyer in New Zealand!! When he came to inspect the Chevy he saw my 64 Pontiac Parissienne Wagon & asked if it was for sale, "not really" put a price on it, so "hit it HARD" when truck came to pick up Impala some negioations happened and a BIG pile of cash on table !! Put a dealer plate on wagon, loaded Impala on "tilt & load" and both GONE!!! Got paid earlier for Impala by bank draft. Broker going to keep wagon for summer then it will likely be off to N Z too!!! So Empty shop [ for now] but something in the works?? more to follow
  13. Their useless! They did a inspection on the brother’s business and no way it would pass but they must have “ pull” as nothing was done and it’s worse than houses! By-law just the same, said if they can’t see the violations from street view that won’t go on property! Our high taxes at work?
  14. That’s as far as I could go, packed to the ceiling! and wall too wall! Can you say fire hazard?
  15. Would be an excellent choice for TV show Hoarders buried alive? Bothe their homes would qualify! Been in one basement, juke boxes, pinball machines, barber chairs all piled on top of each other and only got in aboot 2’
  16. To make it worse! There’s a 24 T Doctors coupe that was ready to start after restoration 43 years ago ( I helped on that one) but got pushed into storage and still sits there! Then they started on 27 T roadster resto rod, guess what, it’s in a shed 1/2 finished 10 years ago!! Enough to make a grown man cry or become a alcoholic!!
  17. Just up the street from me there's a 68/69 GTO Rag Top "BURIED" in a garage for the last 20 years or so!!! Just before it went in garage was being driven BUT he Blew up the 400 and his brother put a SBC & trans in it!! Shortly after storing it, owner bought a wrecked "Goat" & they dropped the "good" 400 & trans & front 1/2 of frame, and covered it with a tarp, 20 years later it sits out in yard exactly where it got dropped. Last time the garage door was open you'd never know it was there as it's "TOTALLY" buried under bundles of newspapers and "100's" of empty gallon vinegar jugs!!! What a total waste!! Of course he won't sell it,"gonna get it going one day" !!! Both brothers are BIG TIME hoarders, and won't throw anything out, or sell, but great on buying CRAP, but never do anything with projects, latest is a early 50's GMC that looks like it came from bottom of a swamp, & the parts buying has begun !!!!
  18. Frosty, I missed this post?? Sorry to have to correct you on Description of my Wagon, but it's not a 3 speed stick [ or straight drive as they say in W V ] it's a 4 speed!!!!! But I forgive you and will gladly give you a Canukistani" BEER!!!
  19. That brings back memories of my past stock car racing days. What track are you running it at?? As you know those are closing up rapidly, & have heard rumors that track at Peterbourgh Ont, is on verge of "folding!!!
  20. From what I see rear 1/4 panel is repairable & possibly a 55 Chevy "patch panel" might work?? How bad is fender up front?? May be able to do same there?? Agree with getting it running first!! Then decide if engine & drive line is good or needs rebuild or a " swap" to up grade, depending on your driving habits or if your going the "stock" restore route?? Nice car " I like it" First year of V 8 & hope parts are available, as Pontiac changed it for 56 [something to consider if parts scarce, to go upgrade] That was a problem for me here in Ontario when I had my 64 Catalina, being a US only car, but much better for you there. Good luck, keep us posted.
  21. Frosty, I'm not in Toronto, I,m north east of Oshawa Ont. "aboot 50 miles north east of Toronto!!!
  22. maybe 20, but you;ll never see me in one without a bag over my head!!!
  23. My vanity plate on car I lost in the garage fire!!! Nothing left of plates [tags for US members] they melted!!!!
  24. Heres a few "shots of 64 Impala S/S 409 4 speed!! Last one is from local show where it won "peoples choice" which was a BONUS as I just go for FUN!!
  25. Dennis, you missed ' Joe Bats Arm" in Nfld !!! Nothing beats " Intercourse PA" though in USA
