  1. Beer consumption "UP" front thermometer facing west is at 108 F and back one at 96F in shade!!! Keeping MOLSON'S brewery in the black, just doing my part for the economy!! Will have to remember these days in January when I'm "oot" blowing 3' of snow!!!! Too "f" ing hot to even take a car for a run!!! A/C in house running constant, & may have to sell a car or re mortgage to pay bill!! Ontario has the highest rate for electricity in North America + Beer & gasoline!! $ 48 + for a 24 of beer & equivilant of $ 4.00 + a US gallon right now for regular, which none of my classics will run on!!!
  2. We up here have other names for US beer but don't want to "offend" anyone south of border but does relate to different "animal xsgreestions!!!!
  3. Dennis & friends, you should know from Rusty in W V how much he appreciates the 2 BEER RUNS I make for him, attending the shows in W V. but he's in "withdrawal" this year with both trips " CANCELLED" so no Canukistan BEER!! He'll have suffer through these times with your American watered down stuff!!!
  4. I know this is a older post but re trans, if it's automatic & is org. trans they only came with 2 speed power glide!! No problem mating up to SBC, use your 283 "flex plate/ flywheel and Torque converter will bolt right up!! 66 Cdn Poncho's came with 6cyl, 283, 327, or BB 396!! 65 was last year for the 409 in early models.
  5. Another Ontarian here, 20 miles north of the now closed GM plant where my Safari was born in 1964, shipped to Alberta after birth, then to Saskatchewan, & returned home, when I bought it "on line"!!! Now has company it shop sitting beside 64 Impala 409 & both say " pick me" when going out!!!!
  6. I gave this site info to long time friend up here [ high school] who owns a 62 Grand Prix, so hopefully he will show up here soon!!! Just trying to help folks!!!
  7. Even though they are running farm equipment business into bankruptcy , they will not part with "anything"" 23 Tall hat T, 28 Ford roadster, GTO + any anything Allis Chalmers they refuse to sell even with customer there cash in hand NOPE "may need that someday" So may have to wait, but if auction takes place "forget it"
  8. Wow that's sharpe!!! There's a 69? Goat rag top sitting in a garage up the end of my street, been in there for 15 years!! Owner blew up the 400 and his brother dropped in a SBC & transmission. They got another 400 & trans but have left them outside for last 12 years and it's "totally pooched" now!! Typical " hoarder" & answer is the same every time I ask " Going to fix it some day" At least the car is inside but buried in junk !!! I'll bet a "BEER" the SBC in GTO is seized solid now!!!
  9. Been trying to ad avatar picture but keeps saying too big and can't figure out how to adj, it???
  10. Welcome from your neighbor in Ontario!! I'm a newbie here too, but did see your Star Chief posted in a article on the Canadian Poncho site "about polishing paint back to life" and man that turned out GREAT!!!!
  11. New shop pictures, installed floor heating tubes but not hooked up yet, have Natural Gas overhead unit heater, that works well for now. 14.5 ft ceiling height so perfect for 4 poster lift. Luckily I had pictures of contents of tools & equipment & suggest you do the same as I doubt you can remember "everything that's in there" I sure couldn't & still go to look for something and say "oh ya must have lost it in fire!! but pictures helped. Have done the same for this shop. Lucked out on tool box, found it on line, approx. 45 grand in tools & got it for 10 g's took 5 guys to roll it onto trailer at dealership where mechanic worked before suffering a "stroke" !!! My contractor had it done in just over 3 months and was so well organized no waiting on material, arrived exactly on time as building went up!!! Org. concrete floor had to be torn up as heat from fire " pooched" it
  12. I've got a 10lb ABC [compared to the 2 lb ones] + a 10 or 15 gallon chrome refillable one out of a High school [ don't ask] for wood fire etc. fill it ,hit it with air hose to pressurize it. Will shoot a good 20 ft. for at least 4 minutes or so!!! That would have put out the work bench flames no problem as power had popped fuses when fridge or stereo shorted out after fire started!!!
  13. Dennis I did like that Avanti as well & still in contact with the guy who bought it, No issues at all so guess the repairs & re wire did the trick!! I got a lot of "ribbing" on it, " not a Pontiac, Pete, WTF you doing with that" !! but I have broad shoulders!!
  14. I'm posting some of my "past" Pontiacs & and a "Orphan" + a few others over the past years!! 64 Catalina, southbound I 79 to Charleston WV. 65 Valiant V200 273 V8 "Hi Po" 4 speed, 70 Catalina "rag top" & 56 Nomad & 38 chev coach, 72 Avanti II [ went to Charleston twice] 51 Torpedo Back [lost in fire] got 27 MPG on trip south & present cars, 64 Impala S/S409 4 speed, & 64 Safari Cdn engine shots doing detailing. R/C decals say 327 "Pontiac" & I saved those, as our emission control "police are sticky" about engine swaps & engine must have what engine was born with, I'm close but they can sill check #'s if they think they have too??
  15. Just a suggestion for your garage/ shop!! 2017 I had a fire here & had 2 small ext. on the wall but they weren't enough & lost the shop + 2 cars & car trailer + all contents !!! Devastating to say the least, + 2 broken ribs when I slipped on ice running back for hose. 51 Torpedo back & Cutlass rag top totaled but well covered by insurance. New shop built and have " 2 " LARGE extinguishers !!!~!~ Losing the Pontiac broke my heart, 6 years of blood sweat in that car, ran strong [ 400 hp+] 5 speed Tremic all on shortened 86 Monty chassis. Cutlass hurt too but Pontiac more so!!
  16. I do but site says there too big and I have no idea what to do, not a computer whiz!! Have enough trouble doing this or a email !!! maybe it worked this time
  17. I just found this site while browsing, & happen to know Frosty from years back meeting him on another site & realizing we both had the same friends in West Virginia!! I met him in person back in 2010 when I had my 64 Catalina 2+2 with dual Quads.Sold that one a few years back, & built a 51 Cdn. Pontiac Torpedo back coupe, on late model Monty chassis, 355 SBC with dual quads & 5 speed Tremic. Unfortunate I had a garage fire that burn't to the ground taking the coupe and a 69 Cutlass rag top to be totaled!!! New shop built & found a 64 Impala S/S409 4speed in "mint" shape!! BUT 3 months later, I found a 64 Pontiac [ Cdn] Safari wagon in western Canada on Cdn. Poncho site, lived all it's life out west, 350 SBC [out to 358], Borg-Warner 4 speed, 3:36 Posi & no rust anywhere!! Bought site un seen other than pictures & video & has it shipped to Ontario by car carrier, no surprises, exactly as described! Have driven it 3 times to Show in Charleston W V with no problems, whereas Impala gets trailered there as It's pretty stiff on fuel with non Hwy. gears[ but hauls "A$$" Guess I'm a 73 yr. old "KID" ???
