jason, something that i spotted thats odd ! it looks that your 64 has a fuel tank up the driverside inner rear quarter ! my 64 has the tank centre under the floor between the chassis rails !

top one is justA the chrome ring second one i couldnt open third one is a complete unit but the chrome ring is toast fourth is broken and they are made of pot metal, so no fun trying to fix it

I am seriously thinking about cleaning up the paint work and keeping her original !!! And where the paint has been sanded down to metal . Do a resto patch paint job , including the section I have to do rust repairs on , like that passenger door lower section then match the oringinal paint ..

So now I have no choice but to sand off the rest ! The 57 looks wayyyyy better in her factory clothes even if they are 67 years old !! That’s justA the passenger side ! look at this ugly crap on the driver side !

I went deep in that rabbit hole with the cleaning the oxide primer off the bonnet … this is what happens when you have free time !!!

I haven’t had any time on the 63 or 57 as I have been setting up my bigger better hydroponics tunnel house that I built I been growing veg for the last 18 years with my little glasshouses with hydroponics , now I have gone next level . Due to the price of vegys ! Just crazy ! I refuse to pay $15 for a kg of tomatoes ! They should be $2 per kg !! … you can see my motivation !!!

As I have mentioned before this girl is waiting on my engineer to build his shed and then book me in to take the frame and convert it to full c4 vett suspension … still waiting !!!! I am going to go visit him and give him a nudge … as I have been waiting 2 years now .so watch this space ….. none the less … I gave the bonnet a quick sand with the scotch bright and wow ! That’s cool !! I had done my home work and knew the factory colour for this girl. But really didn’t think much about what was hiding under the oxide primer that someone had blown over her

You know how we all do it ! We go down a rabbit hole on the net and thats what happened to me today with the 57 ! I had to move it (boss said so ) and it’s covered in crap so I decided to park it in front of the shed and get the duster gun out and blow it clean …. Then I felt the windows needed a wipe … then I though . Ah grab a scotch bright and just clean that spot on the bonnet .

you guys forgot to mention nose !!! i get in there with a chainsaw and next morning the blonde suckers are back!!!! Like fitzy I am back home doing crap that needs doing before going back to work on the 3rd .. the big job is my work van. Service , clean, outside, wax, detar !! And as the thing is 8 years old now I find for the first time ever , polishing the faded head lights !!! they where so badly yellowed i wet sanded them with 1500 grit first and then with a wool buffer ! i am guessing these things are made of polycarbonate ? not sure ? wierd how the surface crack crazes !!! its new years eve so, stuff anymore work, i have mates coming shortly and we will be cracking open some nice cold brown ales !! tomorrow will be clean the inside !!!! that will take all day !!! happy new year guys
