  1. HELL YES! Congrats bud. I'm so happy all the B.S is over and you can enjoy the ol'girl! Why are you still reading this, go drive her!!
  2. Agreed bro. Running along as happy as could be about 85mph and pop! It got exciting for a few min. This is the tubing kit I buy bro, it comes with the needed fittings. I buy them at my local auto parts store but ebay, amazon or justa about anyplace should carry them bro.
  3. Glad you guys like them. So for the oil line I ran through a grommet in the firewall and to the pad that the distributor sits on. Next to the hole that the distributor goes in there is a plug for an oil line. The fitting that come with the gauge threads in perfect. I'm sure you also know this, I personally would not use the plastic line that comes with the oil gauge. I had a custom S10 years again with A-pillar gauges and the plastic line popped on me while driving. Sprayed oil all over the windshield. Justa mess, since then I always use the copper upgrade line. It's hard to see where the line goes in but it's right in the area of the circle. For the temp, again I went through the grommet and under the intake to the front of the engine and plugged into a temp bung. On this intake there is a bung on each side off this intake. As far as an adapter. I actually used one until I installed my headers. With the headers on this engine I had no room for an oil filter. So I have a filter relocation kit on the car. At that time I moved the oil gauge line to the distributor pan for a cleaner look. As you can see the engine paint didn't hold up, guess I'll be redoing that when I paint the car.
  4. That sucks for groundwork bud. But wow that's a beautiful piece of property bro!
  5. That's sounds like my luck bro. Good luck
  6. Thanks bud, I'll give it another go tomorrow if the rain holds off and report back
  7. Wow man, that's crazy! I'm totally against EVs for numerous reasons but man Last Indian, you've really got me thinking. Without getting too personal, I can't even own an iPhone 12 or 13 due to the magnets and electromagnetic field interfering with certain medical devices. You now have me wondering how an EV could affect medical devices. That's justa scary. Time to make some phone calls.
  8. Here's where I put mine bro. My old eyes needed a bit bigger gauge's
  9. Yeah I was able to remove the bottom. It was held on by screws. I found clips like the ones in your bottom pic Kiwi, there on the inside of inside of the car under the seal. Yours look like there is a screw? Mine didn't have a screw. I did play with that clip to, but when I pried on it the chrome on the outside didn't move. Any idea how that unclips?
  10. So no progress on the windshield chrome. I watched 5 or 6 YouTube videos, but they were all of 63-64 Chevy's. I looked them up in my 63 manual and the clips are different. These clips look like they are built into the chrome. By that I mean there is no step up or down as there should be when 2 pieces come in contact with each other. So I worked on and wiggled the chrome and the clip for a few hours and decided to call it quits when I caught myself reaching for the pry bar to rip it off. It almost looks like that metal piece goes under the windshield seal. So I'm thinking that when I pull the windshield I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope I can pry the chrome off at the same time.
  11. Congrats bro! Super happy she's doing well!
  12. Ohhh yeah! That color combo is awesome bro, and the cool factor of antigravity, forget about it! lol How about some interior pics?
  13. Can't wait to see the progress Frosty. She's beautiful bro.
  14. Well mine either fell off or was removed bro. No sign of it at all.
  15. Ok cool. I'll have to look and see if mine is still there.
  16. Wait! You mean I cant make and eat my toast in the hot tub over there?!?! Well hell, I guess I'll justa keep my butt parked right here then! Next thing they'll say not to stick my scissors in the wall pull to make sure I have power!
  17. The only plate I've seen so far is the vin plate in the door. Where's the build plate located? Yeah Fitzy, I do bud. The firewall was old dirty whitish color when I got her. When I had the engine out I justa rattle canned it black until I could decide what I was doing with her. Now I've found a bit of white under chrome and when I pulled the outer fender the other day I found this panel was painted white and it looks original to me. But she's 59 years old, who knows how many times she's had her hair dyed
  18. Wow man, justa wow!!! How crazy is it that you have to go through all this B.S justa to own and drive a piece of automotive history!
  19. At this point Fitzy, I would gladly send you my plate if I could buddy (and report it stolen next week). I honestly feel for you man. This justa sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Yeah I've got a few spots that will need attention for sure. So I found that they had post's going thru here and had to remove the sail panels to remove that piece of chrome. Your thinking there was a post on the front windshield chrome also? I also confirmed that the red paint was not the original color of the car. You can see the white paint in spots where the chrome came off. I figured the safest thing to do is justa take it down to bare metal at this point. Even bought a new tool for the job. The Contour SCT from Eastwood. THEY say that I can strip this entire car (or a car this size), up to 6 coats of paint, body filler, surface rest and condition the metal for primer in 6-8 hour. I say B.S but I'll give it try But the tool is better then sanding or chemical striping. I've done both and they both suck so we'll see.
