  1. What Pontiac get together would not be complete with out a snapshot without a group photo of all FP members present. This time it was JUSTA6, Indymanjoe and myself. JUSTA's daughter took the picture. Killerspeed had car issues and notallthere decided to play in another province of Canada rather than look at chrome and rust, and smell environmentally unfriendly partially burnt hydro carbons....otherwise there might have been more of us. So in this picture is JUSTA, Indymanjoe, and me. Still ain't sure on the order though.
  2. Probably the rarest car on the show field. A '73 Pontiac Formula SD-455 4-speed car. Just how rare is it? Lets look at the production numbers. In 1973, Pontiac only made 252 SD-455 Trans Ams, and 43 Formulas. 72 Trans Ams and only 10 Formulas had 4-speeds. Twin final edition Trans Ams - a T-Top and a convertible. Our GMC truck contestants ...and two of our three G8s Hail to the Cheiftain..... Pre-WWII beauties
  3. Sorry I am late posting, but the last two days have been exceptionally busy. After the Dustoff, I had a graduation open house, and my 3-year old nephew's birthday party to go to. Once I got home, my dad called to say he had a leaky pipe, so I didn't get home to relax to almost midnight and I had been up since 5 am. So I was asleep about the same time I closed my eyes. Today, I had more baseball tournament, my father-in-law and then my dad to to visit. So I am just getting a few minutes to post. So my apologies for the delay. JUSTA is correct, the day was fabulous. I think we are touch light on cars this year but I have not heard the official count. I got JUSTA mad at me since he and I were shopping in the swap meet area and I snagged this before he even saw it. It is an original Ace Wilson Royal Pontiac license plate frame. Royal Pontiac was one of the factory race dealerships back in the sixties. The tag said make offer, I did for $10.00- it was mine. JUSTA still hasn't forgiven me for that since he's been looking for one for quite awhile too. This year is the 50th Anniversary of the introduction of the GTO. To that end, a special award for the best overall GTO, as judged and presented the North Oakland Bowtie Club (a Chevrolet club) since no Widetrackers can vote for any awards at the show. Our own Eric White was judged to be the best overall GTO with his '67. Eric is an Pontiac author and graphics artist in his own right. Also, it is Eric's car that is on the cover of Jim Wanger's book, "Glory Day's". The car was photographed several years ago by the late Pontiac and automotive photographer and writer and editor Paul Zarazaine. So kudos to Eric on his win. The cover of Glory Days Solstices were will represented with a GXP and convertible. Loved the sign too. Here is another piece of uber-rare Pontiac unobtainuim. An unused license plate from the Pontiac Retail Store. The asking price was $200.00 and he got it. The Pontiac Retail Store was in downtown Pontiac. It was essentially a Pontiac factory store where you could take delivery of your new Pontiac without going thru a real dealer.
  4. I agree wtih you Young Gun, Pretty simple mod too.
  5. Well that just stinks.....I was looking forward to having a 4th FP member around since notallthere decided to get all SciiFI geeky and head to Calgary this week to visit his brother and take pictures of the Kent wheat farm from the original Superman movie and a 1/10th scale NC 1701 USS Enterprise.
  6. Joe - I'm bringing my camera tomorrow to check it out. I can't wait to see your bad ass ride....and the preverbial FP photo op!
  7. Ohhhh.....he-man male bonding and power shopping. Careful JUSTA, if you end up in Livonia at NPD, neither of you will get out alive without a single untaped credit card.
  8. So what is the prognosis and will you make it to the Dust Off at all - even to check out the cars as a spectator?
  9. Pontiac had dropped the Tempest name and called it the T-37. So the performance oriented "GT" version of the T-37 was badged as the GT-37. The GT-37 is actually the closest thing to what DeLorean wanted back in '67-68, under Project ET. Project ET was meant to be Pontiac's answer to the inexpensive Roadrunner. Project ET eventually created the Judge. ET was meant to be a stripped down barn burner. The only cost saving measure from Project ET that made its way to the Judge was the removal of trim rings. So a true Judge has no trim rings.
  10. I wish I could go. I have to be in Canuckistan for the wife's family reunion. Have a great time !!!!
  11. Somehow birds know when a car's picture is about to be taken. I thought you bought the car gray as camo for the dirt in the first place.
  12. Check out the new shoes on notallthere's Vibe!! He showed up at the Widetracker meeting last night sporting these wheels mounted onto BF Goodrich G-Force rubber. Now if we can get him to invest in some paint for those damn rusty drum brakes, eh ? Oh, and he is proud to report that the new driveway is done and it already has its first oil stain, courtesy of Mrs. notallthere's Cavalier.
  13. Nice GT-37 and, of course, the young lady in the short shorts. What I find most interesting is the Stutz sign. Stutz Motor Car Company of America resuurected the Stutz name from the 1920s and 1930s. They used Pontiac Grand Prix and Bonnevilles, as well as Olds Delta 88s as the underpinnings of their cars from 1970 to mid-to-late 1980s. Motown's Barry White had a Stutz IV-Porte that was recently found and restored on an episode of History Channel's Counting Cars TV show.
  14. Hmmm....I may have to buy some parts off of Indymanjoe now.....especially a hood tach.
  15. The GNX motor is rumored to be the LF3 twin turbo'd 3.6L that's going in the CTS-V and perhaps the ATS-V. Are these pictures more to your liking Ringo? Remember I said the other picture was a concept - so it may well have been developed from the Commodore/Zeta platform..
  16. It is my understanding that the new Grand National/GNX will be off the new ATS/CTS platform, not the aging Zeta (Camaro or SS/Commodire) platform. Some sources have suggested that one or both models might also be available as AWD. A turbo 4-cylinder making 272 HP, a 3.6L making 320 HP is expected to be optional. The GNX is expected to have either a 400 HP 3.6L or rumors of a twin turbo'd motor.
  17. Interesting idea stratman. I have to assume they came from YearOne. You would not happen to have a better profile of this car would you? This would go along with an idea that I bounced off of Indymanjoe and JUSTA not that long ago.
  18. Thanks for the nom Chaos ! Thanks guys! Its good to see POTM back by the way !!!!
  19. I scrubbed the convertible top of the Lemans with 303 Products Convertible Top and Tonneau Cover cleaner and a convertible top brush. Seems to have lifted a lot of the embedded dirt out. I will have to do it again the next time I have it home to see if I can get more of the deeper dirt and as well as the boot cover clean.
  20. Tell her yourself the next time we all get together. I don't mind holding the lit match while you pour on the gasoline.
  21. You mean to say that you're not willing to drive 5 hours to spend several quality hours to see you fellow Forever Pontiac brethren looking at classic Pontiac, Oakland, and GMC metal, take a run down Woodward while you are here, and grab some free cold beer from your buds in Royal Oak, regardless of what ride gets you here???? Tsk, tsk, tsk killer.....I am truly disappointed in you attitude !!!! Shame! Shame! Shame!
  22. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Congrats on your award too stratman !!!!! Wow! Identical strangers!!!! I see 4 subtle differences between this Lemans Sport and mine. Beautiful car.....I like it. 1. This car has a front license plate holder, mine does not (not required for Michigan either) 2. 350 badging on lower rockers - mine saws 455 (should say 462 since my 455 is now bored .030 over) - obviously this is the original motor or at least the original trim (it may not have the original 350 engine in it for all we know) 3. Chrome passenger door mirror, I have dual sport mirrors painted body color 4. I had my seats 2-toned with blue piping, these are original white Madrid grain or original grain re-production seats. Indymanjoe - take note - this car also does not have the fiberglass/steel cowl piece between the radiator core support and the front grilles either. Very interesting....mine doesn't have it. I've often wondered if someone took it off and left it off by mistake or if it was never put on at the factory in the first place.
  23. Thanks for the votes folks!!! Thanks for the nomination too. Chaos - looks like you got your wish too !!!! You'll be seeing some changes to the Lemans this summer too. That's a promise. Somethings are already under way......
