NEW TIRES!!!!!!
G0VTCH33ZE replied to dxdean3's topic in Pontiac Suspension, Brakes, Rims & Tires Dicussion/Questions
Looks good Size of wheel has nothing to do with what series you should or shouldn't have. -
What is a Canuck? In my opinion, to each their own, yea some stuff might not be exactly what you want to see in a car. At least it's not a bunch of smeared on bondo, and looks to be quality body work. Looks like most of them put a bunch of time & money into those cars (at the show), and I can respect that, be it low key or totally wild. But when it's a total hack job and/or stick on crap, then yea it's gay.

Never been a fan of any bodykit

Should have this in a few days!

Not rice

Thanks guys, hopefully this tuning issue is the last trial. After that comes bottom end & trans parts.
-
The MAF has plenty of resolution left, the problem is the ECM not letting it read that far. All the translator would allow me to do is use a different one. Hopefully this hurdle can be cleared without going to full stand alone.
-
Don't remind me lol It had the stock exhaust on it for a little bit, it's been open downpipe for a while now (loud)
-
Thanks! It's at 7psi right now, but the ECM wont let the MAF read beyond a certain resolution, so after a certain point it's like walking blindfold through a mine field blindfolded. So I need to either flash a Cobalt 2.4 operating system to the existing computer, or re-pin a Cobalt computer to plug into the harness. Either way a bitch. As far as horsepower I have no idea, haven't dyno'd it yet

Put the new computer in, runs like shit until I can get chip burner/emulator to fine tune it.

I'm amazed at the level of ignorance and bias in this thread. NEITHER of these cars were designed to be 1/4 mile superstars, that's why they were in the high 11's-low12's area. Toyota has a very lengthy history in the autosports realm, and if you knew anything you'd know they've been a heavyweight contender for quite sometime. The video told that 60% of the car was made of carbon fiber, what 1/4mi track cars do you see with that much carbon on them????? I think people need not judge this car based just on it's straight line performance. Here's a better, more in depth video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJJZe_vXfHE

I've been doing some research for you yesterday/today (I look up parts for a living), and I've narrowed it down to two options for you. #1. Cut em, 1 coil won't put anyone in danger, the ride wont be as smooth, from what I was seeing, you might want to start out with 1/2 a coil because there aren't a whole lot of coils if that option is even possible. It almost looks like the spring tapers off at both ends, rendering it impossible to hack off a couple coils. ebay page SV6 coils link #2. Measure out the dimensions of the spring (i.e. how long, top & bottom diameter, how many coils, etc) and go hunting through junk yards/parts stores/online. No matter what you do, you will have to cut something since there is no aftermarket parts available. Man if I were closer to you I'd love to surf through some junk yards & parts stores, and possibly figure this out. It sucks being the first and having to do all the legwork. If you get it figured out, it can be very rewarding

Thanks guys The sad thing is I put 2.25" Sprint springs on it, fail. Time for coilovers lol. Or cut those a little bit....
-
I don't even want to think about starting the GA lol, thanks guys! Got new wheels 17x7, +20 offset.....flush

Scored a block with Bisimoto I beam rods/8.2-1 Arias pistons fo cheap, goes to the machine shop to get checked over here in a bit. One piston is trash, hopefully nothing else is messed up....

I stopped listening to Slipknot after high school (03), seemed to me they got soft after that. Stone Sour reminded me of a med-core Nickleback, so I quit buying their/Slipknot's albums...... Still kinda sucks I guess...
