Wow! He does exist! He spends so much time remodeling these days he has no time for cars!!!

Makes me wonder if the Challenger is going to be ready to come to Michigan in 3 weeks and do that Cars and Cones thang!!!! :lol2:

Well, I have taken time away from the house and concentrating on the beast. I ordered new tires just hope that they get here in time.😰 Been going over the car tweaking thangs. Just gotta do some shake down runs and may even do an autocross this weekend to shake thangs down more.

You were permitted by the little woman to go play with the Challenger? Be still my beating heart !

Or are you starting to get into a mad thrash since Cars and Cones is less than 2 weeks away? :driving:

I still can't believe you are coming to Michigan! :picard:

Autocross ... I think he means he's going huntin'

Well GE did indeed show here in Brighton Michigan on Saturday. Seems he and Sam left North Carolalacky around 3 am to get here by 3 pm on Saturday. The notallthees could not join us, and JUSTA6 was last seen trying to stuff a Cadillac motor into a Cadillac and not having a lot of success in the process when I last talked to him. So it was up to Indmyman Joe and I to hold down the Michigan FP contingency. The little woman is GE"s finance Sam (Samantha).

Sam, GE, and Indyman Joe - Joe and I brought out our cars to meet GE. I dropped the top and brought Sam and GE to dinner.

Joe, GE, and me.

We had dinner a wonderful Italian place that Joe recommended. Food is made from scratch and it was close to their hotel.

Of course I took pictures of the Deer Slayer. Joe got to hear the story of the Deer Slayer from GE - how Richard Petty (yes - that Richard Petty) named it that.

...and the famous "kill stickers". GE tells me that he has to add a few more.....2 more deer, a coyote, and I think he said a possum. :picard:

IMG_1309.thumb.JPG.816104d4f5c0e75d5d8ffb12980b2123.JPG

Tell me about it. I told GE that the coyote kill sticker needs to be Wile E.

After dinner, we were chit chatting in the parking lot of the hotel when their fellow race competitors/friends from North Dakota (the Nordensroms) showed up. Seems that last year they had killer Texas-sized cinnamon buns that Sam could not get enough and she was wishing they had brought some with them this year (alas Sam was disappointed). However these folks run a relatively stock Dodge Magnum. It basically has a RideTech suspension and Brembo brakes under it, but the drivetrain is pretty untouched - compared to GE's 528 supercharged beast.

I like these folks spirit too.....they affectionately refer to this car as the "Grocery Getter" - for obvious reasons. This was her daily drivers for several years. Now it only does autocross duty.

This is the Nordenstrom's 4th year doing the FM3 Cars and Cones event. They just love it. Something everyone else might want to consider.

Today the formal events kick off with a tour of the Ken Lingenfelter collection. Indyman Joe and I toured this earlier this spring. So check out that thread for pictures.

Here is the sound of GE's 528 Hemi engine idling.....

I talked to GE last night. He wanted to come up and visit and I suggested that the weather was bad (it was for awhile). Anyways, he and Sam had a really busy day. First up they went to the Henry Ford Museum. They checked out the Presidential Limo collection, the chair Abe Lincoln was assassinated in, the train collection, the steam engines, but they did not have time to check out the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile!!!! They didn't get through the whole museum or any of Greenfield Village before they had to leave for their next destination...

The Jack Roush collection in Livonia. They saw many of Jack's cars and trucks. NASCAR, road racing, and one offs. Sam loved the trucks especially.

Finally, they were on their way to Ken Lingenfelter's place in Brighton, not far from their hotel, for dinner. They got to see the exotics, the wild collection of Corvettes, and then GE went around on the domestics saying "had that", "had that", "sold that". GE loved the Auburn boat tail speedster though. He got to chat with Ken a few times too. Got Ken's autograph on a poster too. Sounds like dinner was a success.

Now, it's not even 9:00 am as I write this. I get a text message from GE already..."Took out a Michigan raccoon". :picard:

So I have to ask if the kill sticker for this sucker is going to be different because its an out-of-state critter? Did he notice any difference between Michigan and North Carolacky raccoons?:stars:

GE and Sam are on their way to South Bend Indiana and Tire Rack to autocross today. Lord only knows what he'll hit next.

What a jam packed schedule but man, that sounds like fun and a great experience!

GE is going to have to get one of those Travel Maps soon to cross off the states he's created road kill in.

Now that is a killer idea Ringo!!!!

Well GE's trials and tribulations continue. He called me last night. He said the tour of Lane Automotive in Waterviolet Michigan was awesome. They have everything you want if you want to go racing. Sprint car frames, dragster frames, etc. He figures they gave him $60 worth of swag alone.

However, things didn't go so well at Grissom AFB in Peru Indiana. During his third autocross lap, his right front tire didn't sound right. Seems the bushings of the right front lower control arm were shot. He had to drive to nearby Kokomo Indiana to get a new control arm for a local Dodge dealership. Unlike the Hot Rod Power Tour, there is no tech support on this trip, so GE had to fix the car himself with his own tools and jack(s).

He didn't tell me. He didn't tell me if he had any help from his buddies either.

Alrighty, those pics were great!! Those cartoon characters covering the heads cracked me up. It was great spending time with frosty and Joe. Yes, and Joe's car is a beast !! And riding in frosty's car for the first time was fun and scary at the same time. Although, we did have a great meal and good fun bugging each other.

Yes, I broke a lower control arm bushings and it took me 2 hours to replace with help from some of the guys between runs. Now the local Button Dodge dealership did a video shoot the next day. I'll post a link soon. If not you can see my inpromto, non scripted, they didn't tell me what they wanted so I just sort of stumbled my way thru it. You can check their website and see the video. I made a very smokey dealership and lots of noise. The salesmen we're in panic. All the mechanics stopped working on cars and we're in the parking lot watching lol !! And at Indy lost a Vband off the exhaust while going down the highway back to the hotel. But, the cool part was the speed shop that we were visiting that evening luckily had one and installed it for me. Which was really killer.

Now, the map thingie. I do have a map that is the scratch off type that I use for the Road Trip autocross events. I also, have decals for all the road courses I've raced with a map. And one for land speed racing. And one for all the states the lil woman and I traveled.

Now, on the critter kills. We'll, I guess I could put a state which each were killed. Alot would be in SC, and NC. Now, the Michigan raccoon !! He just stayed there no movement to get outta the way. I think that it was from the inbreeding there !! Lol !! Ringo, yes I probably need to get one for the kills. Lmao!!

Over all, it totally wears you out each day and makes for a long week. Especially driving home. But, the best part is. Great fun, great friends, great blast, and just plan fun !!

Well, been going over the car and replacing sensors that were starting to go bad, bushings, installing those rear control arms, and getting ready to blow the car apart and hopefully get everything installed and painted. Yeah, the car is getting lighter and the body panels I made and modified along with the new nose I made. Should look killer and mean. But, still retain the Superbird looks.

Oh, and it'll be sporting a killer pic on the wing of one of Acme Corporations own beta tester.

We’ll, I’ve made a lot of changes. Still haven’t painted all the panels yet. It’s one of those perfectionist things that kills me all the time. All of the new stuff that I designed and made is out of carbon fiber. Front fenders, new sexy side skirts that may or may not have exhaust coming out the sides. New rear fenders, and doors. Rear sexy skirt, trunk and hood. The new nose is made of all aluminum and is held together by over 3000 solid rivets. It is supporting a totally new design which is more aero and style which mixes old skool and new skool into the design. The new wing is a composite of aluminum and carbon fiber. I even made a new radiator support out of carbon fiber in which I made more for strength along with adding more supports for various items under the hood and nose. There were new supports that I made for the front fenders that were needed since factory is nonexistent and were never designed for the fenders. I’ll get it all painted and installed and pics will follow afterwards.

Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. I finally had to install a new optima battery after 8 years. Getting ready to load it up and take it to the new garage. In the past year I have been going thru every inch of the car checking and replacing stuff from years of hard racing. I re-engineered and machined new arms for the rear suspension from my last design making it better and yet more stronger. I’ve been installing all the new body panels I made to improve aerodynamics and drop drag coefficients while leaving enough to suck to the track and stick. Although, I did remake some parts to improve on fitment.
So, next on the list is final paint and finally getting it inspected so, it’ll be street legal again probably by the end of may it’ll be back on the streets and on the track again creating havoc !!

Well, a whole lot busy with my new job. And bought a new house in the country, sticks, boonies, yeah it’s out thar.  Best part besides the house it come with 2 3 car garages. And it even comes with a big office. And between them is one of those RV carport and 2 industrial air compressors both 2 stage. And to beat that heck I almost fainted I sure did. It has you guys ain’t gonna believe this both garages have one of those big ole AC systems and ceiling fans. You can freeze ya butt off in the summertime while working on a car. And you can fart and the fans will blow it away. It’s the Dangist tang ya ever did see.

Well, I dun fingered that I’d work on the cars in the front shop and use the rear for the machine shop and fab shop. Heck gotta find somewhere to put mills and lathes with them welders.

Now , with the story that I started blabbering about that Frosty brought up. Yup frosty them dang ole cicadas did come out and they did with a big bang !!  Both dang species came out at the same time and they been kicking up a ruckus. They be a hootin and a hollerin and having themselves a big ole reunion throwing dang loud parties at over 100dbs.  Heck I guess they deserve it since they ain’t seen each other since 1803. I kind of figured they might be havin some inbreeding going on with the way they are partying. Been finding a few partied out ones passed out on my dang deck I kind of shove them to wake them and all I get is some chatter. So, I pick their butt up by the wangs and tell them to git on back in the trees and they just chatter. So, I fling them and they go flyin off back to the trees just being all sassy and cusin up a storm. Then they got back to the party and get all loud again. Dang crazy bugs!! Here’s just how loud they are if this loads up. Dang crazy bugs!!

Dude, you never cease to amaze me. I am jealous. How the heck does someone move to the sticks and buy a house with several garages, stage air compressors, AC, and ceiling fans? Why not lifts too?

Not to mention you have your project vehicles with the Beast, the '31, the Olds, etc., etc., etc.

So when are we getting shop and updated project photos?

Well, dang I hadn’t even gotten to the cool parts yet !! It has a 400amp service for house and garages. And a generator that supports everything for house, and both garages. On the pics part let me get it organized and straightened up and I’ll take some. But, the solid maple cabinets that were built for both garages are killer. The previous owner was a cabinet maker. He did some nice work. I’m not trying to bost at all. I just got lucky with this house. The last one that had a nice garage I was out bidded on.
