I joined a forum called Pontiactalk, right around the same time I joined G6P.... I noticed there wasn't too much going on there so I never went back... yesterday I got an email notification of a new PM... I was like ok whatever... but it fraked me out cause the heading mention a warning.... so I checked it out out and this is what it said...

All those websites that "claim" you have a "virus" are all spam messages/ads to give you a virus. Do NOT trust them, you should have a virus protector of your own which will alert you of the virus. IE. McAfee, Norton, etc...

DOUCHECANOES :badGT:

Yeah, definitely would Spam that message and avoid that site... sounds either like it's a hoax site, or the site itself got hacked...

Probably cause the senders claim to be admins/mods.... funy thing is they only show to have 1 or 2 post when admins everywhere else have thousands of posts..... Oh well I aint going back anyways...

Sounds like a bot that joins various forums to spam members through PM's. It happens a lot if the forums registration doesn't have strong enough bot protection.

I hate that crap. FTV6 got a few odd bots signing up, but just, the posts they would make left us all confused. ;)

ANY, AND I MEAN ANY website that says you have virus' on your computer and wants to search your computer from their site, should be avoided!

Now, if you went to a trusted site like mcafee, norton, or other TRUSTED Anti-Virus company, and asked them to check your computer, then you're ok, but under no circumstances, EVER fall for that trick from ANY WEBSITE!

You're just asking for trouble!

I can't get Windows Viruses :lol2:

Not supprised. Bots join up on forums that don't have decent SPAMBot protection. Most of the time they will just post links in topics or post porn and stuff, but they are known to automatically PM users and stuff too. DELETE.

Look the cartoon!
