I went to a Catholic school. During one of my religous study courses the teacher said that Darwin and Creationism could be taught at the same time. This would have to be in mind that the Bible could not be taken absolutely literally. Seven days would be subject to interpretation since the stories would have been passed down word of mouth for the first 400 years and went through countless translations before it became the version that we know of today. The first 'man' who could have crawled through the Darwin theory would have been Adam.

Should we deny the offspring the chance to learn about the religous side? No but it should be presented in a way for the kids to make up their own mind.

Ramming one belief or theory over another one should not be done. All Nye is doing is substituting one story for another and keeping the same bias.

I think what Nye is aiming is exactly what you're saying Notallthere. Don't force your kids into believing something, let them decide for themselves with the facts what they want to believe in.

Religion can be a very touchy subject and something I like to avoid on forums so I will be monitoring this thread and closing it should it get out of hand. Thanks for understanding.

Teach your kids both and let them decide. The End.
