upon review, they only have 383 lb ft of tq......wtf over?

The DOHC V10 is only 5.0 liters in displacement, and redlines at 7200rpms, so of course it doesn't sound deep. A V8 has that sound, V10 DOHC motors are usually high revving, making most of their power in the upper rev range.
