[ChaosweaveR]'s Mitsubishi Galant ES Progression

Featured Replies

Wellp, decided to make a progression thread for the lady's ride, since I've been tinkering with it lately...mainly cleaning and waxing it.

2003 Galant ES, with the 2.4L SOHC. Looking to spiffy up the little bugger. Me, personally, I actually like this gen Galant, and I'm fond of the VR-4 models the US never got.

Here's the silver streak: HELLASTOCK

Well, only one mod. Car came with these 15" TSWs.

And as of yesterday...debadged and ditched all the decals on the bumper and trunk. Peace sign was a magnet, so I lucked out.

First off, went after that ES badge:

Then a bumper sticker to attend to:

Coated it with goo-gone, and slowly peeled the sucker off:

Left some nasty residue, but the goo-gone made quick work of that.

Aside from scrapes from the g/f using the trunk, and rock chips, paint was still good underneath:

Then attended to the "Galant" emblem:

Hey, where did it go?

Then dusted off the cars for some quick pics.

Yes, I like these Galants. Mainly because the JDM spec VR-4 models are teh secks.

Difference is that American cars unless they're cheapo cheapo usually have some soul and styling to them they're not just machines, they're cars. Jap cars are just machines IMO...

and  not picking just making an observation

agreed 100% my friend they are build by common man for the common man with blood sweat and joy

Can I delete this thread please?

j/k..............

Plans mainly include the VR-4 front clip, wheels, JDM tails and break away mirrors.

Speaking of wheels, the Galant may see my ROHs later this summer if I get the Rotas for my GA.

I know I'm planning on getting the Kouki JDM tails for the Galant, but in the meantime I decided to tinker with the stock tails.

Car needed a good cleaning anyway.

Got the tails out and cleaned them:

Those other tails you see, my g/f's mother wanted some tint as well.

Car all cleaned up, and her logo for her mural/designing side job back on the Galant.

Tails look good but on the car they look out of place a bit.

The Hyundai doesn't look half bad with the tinted tails... Wait did I just say that?

I thought I deleted this thread?

nice...idk about the suv tho

Well, the deal I'm getting on the JDM tails is great, and everybody has the newer 3rd gen JDM tails. But they may not get tint...

Not much of a fan, of any of it, but the work you're putting into a car that's not yours is admirable.

I swear, it's a compulsion...I mod every car I get my paws on! ;)

Hooray for JDM tail lights!
