Pop them out and have a spring shop reset them 1 inch higher John

And pop the fronts and have them lowered a inch

It’s good for the spring steel to be reset as it restores their tensile strength !

Remember those springs are 58 years old !!!

Look at the stance on Justa6's GTO. It's a 66, but it looks awesome bro! You got any pics of yours? Pics help our creative juices flow. D

I have used spacer blocks that mount under the coil springs on the rear axle spring perch's Like these

To install them you need to jack up the car and secure it on jack stands, unbolt the rear shocks, and you can pry up the coil springs one at a time and install them. The only thing that you may or may not have to do is get longer stroke rear shocks. But I never had to do it when just installing them to return the ride height.

Koni is an adjustable coilover shock I run on the front of my GTO. You can pick em up for the back as well. You can buy replacement springs for what you need from a spring shop if you have something like that near you.

This is justa me.

but i am not a fan of using the shock mount as a spring on anything !

its not designed to do that and it puts loading on a parts of your suspension that where never designed for that load.

A great example is adding air shocks to a car, the shock mounts are there to dampen the shock ... not hold the car up !!!

I agree that is why I have used the spacer blocks in the past that mount under the springs themselves. The correct way to do it is new springs of course, but new springs seem to be a crap shoot, they always seem to be either to tall and stiff, or about the same height as the ones I removed.

So if the owner is happy with the handling of the current springs, just not the ride height the spacer blocks are a good option IMO.
