Hey people,

I know I haven't been on here for a while, so I thought I'd drop in for an update.

As you know I had some f!@#wit plow into me July last year, causing quite a bit of damage and a heap of headaches. Especially since it was finally running perfectly from a mechanical/electrical perspectiveB)

Car was in the end repaired really well, including some rust in the sills and guards that would have needed to be done at some stagewoot

It hadn't been driven a lot after getting it back, as we were in the process of selling our home and moving.

Anyhoo - with a few weeks off work over Christmas/New Year and time on my hands, we began to get out and about again (we're now in Coolangatta, right in the heart of Cooly Rocks On territory)clapping

January 11, beautiful day. We planned a trip to Byron to visit a mate, lunch, then a trip up the coast to visit a Cars and Coffee/Night Market event that we haven't been to before. Left our driveway, turned right, proceeded through an intersection, and while waiting to turn right (exactly 150m from our front door!), yet another f!@#ing moron drove straight into us. Again. Same sideangry

So, long story short - I had (during my meltdown) decided that I'd had it with classic cars, for good. Fix it, and f!@# it off was my plan.
To be fair, I know "these things happen" is what you're all thinking. BUT. I'm a long term motorcyclist, who would not be here today had I experienced the same kind of luck while on 2 wheels. But I didn't. Ever! Yet dickheads can't seem to avoid a 6m long red car? Go figurepicard

After some extended discussions with my wife (who wanted to stay with classics, but now firmly believes the Pontiac is just not meant to be our car), we've decided to stay in the game.
But the Pontiac is going. Someone else can experience there benefits and joy of all my hard work(

I guess a shout out to Shannons Insurance is ing order right now, because man they've had to put some time in on my behalf over the last few months. I cannot fault them D

We should pick up the new car this week - she's a beauty. And she's much shorter than the Bonneville, so hopefully the retards will pass right behind instead of colliding with us in futurebadGT
Before you get all up in arms, I just wanted to thank everyone who has been a part of the journey with me, and provided so much good information, guidance and advice. The path would have been so much more rocky without you all. In particular I'd like to mention the following, as these guys have been particularly helpful for meyoda @64 kiwi boni @Fitzy @JUSTA6 @Frosty @Wrongway @TWO LANE BLACK TOP @Ringo64 @Last Indian @indymanjoe

So I'll be fading away soon, but as always photos are attached - because I know you love 'em.

Thanks again,

Paul

Man Paul,,, I hate to hear about everything that's happened bro! Justa glad that everybody is safe. As brother Justa said, you don't have to leave bro, in case you didn't know I've always been a Ford guy, and this is my first Pontiac. What I'm getting at is we can always hide in a back room where nobody can see and talk Fords in private lol. If they don't know they can't care! By the way, awesome Falcon bro. Whatever you decide to do, stay safe and good luck on the next stage of your journey bro.

Sad to hear that it happened again. Don't blame you for wanting to get rid of it, that car is cursed! lol

Don't need to leave though, happy to have you around and, if we must, talk about Fords with ya lol

Paul, I can’t express enough how your circumstances saddens me! You & your wife must be really good people, & as such that bastard badGTin the red suit is raining down on you.

Beautiful Falcon, of all the Fords I only liked two. The mustang & the Falcon.

What everyone else said! You don’t need to leave! We do have a section called other autos you know. So stick around! You know many of us have worked on lots of makes & models! Shush don’t tell any body though!

What a tragedy. Incredible bad luck. Unfortunately, Australia is the home of the Dickhead Driver. I'm convinced we breed and then export them to the rest of the world. And Shannons looked after you both times? If so, then they deserve the praise. For our international viewers, Shannons do insurance for classic cars.

Selling a car that you poured so much time, effort & money into happens all the time - cold comfort, I know.

I don't understand the animosity toward Fords. I have owned plenty of everything and loved all my Fords. Your new Sprint is the Falcon we always should have had. Perfect, trim looking car, simple lines and lots of parts available. Windsor V8s were my fave. Compact, sound good, and more than enough power. Oh, and the distributor is where? At the FRONT of the engine where it belongs!

Let's hope the idiots can miss hitting this one - it'd have to be almost 2m shorter than the tank!

Paul, I am with everyone else here. You are more than welcome to hang out with us idiots with a Pontiac problem. Heck even I have a thread about my Challenger. We are car guys at the core! We want our mates to succeed no matter what they drive! Comradarie is what is important here. You are part of the group. Come hang with your mates!

Oh course that doesn’t mean we won’t harass, tease, and finger point like the immature school ground children we are on just about everything! 🤣
