Can’t find a Part(transmission mount)

Featured Replies

Good afternoon!

I’m new to the forum but was sent here for some help. I have 1962 Pontiac Bonneville Safari with factory 389 and 4 speed auto trans.

My transmission mount needs to be replaced and I can only find the part on one site. That site is out of stock indefinitely. Any suggestions?

Is it only the rubber that is bad? Seriously, see if a hockey puck would be a suitable substitute as a repair to that rubber portion. Trim it to the required shape using a band saw.

Have you tried Frank's Pontiac Parts?

If its not available there, try the link below to find a junk yard with it.

Thanks Rick. Great suggestion and info. I will get a good look at it to see if the hockey puck idea might work.

I really appreciate the quick response.

Beautiful Bonne... Welcome to FP. Good luck with the trans. Really like the Hockey puck idea

I definitely support checking with Franks and the hockey puck trick. However, certain parts are sometimes shared with Chevrolet. I would also check online to see if the 62-64 Chevy Biscayne/Kingwood tranny mount will work.
