So often in the autoverse, we find ourselves saying that a car (or truck) was created before its time, like the funky Subaru trucks of yesteryear, for example. But in the case of the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky, it seems that sometimes a car can come along a little after its time.

The Sky was a valiant try at a performance car by Saturn and the Solstice the first attempt at a two-seat sports-car sequel to the ill-fated Pontiac Fiero. Sadly, though, by the time General Motors greenlit the two muscle roadsters as part of an ill-fated attempt to save its two dying divisions, the credits for the movie were already cued up and the show was just too close to over to change the ending. Despite being around for only a handful of years, they made their mark as two of the most underrated convertibles in American automotive history.
