Looks like an Opel GT that was under the wingspan of the Buick HAWK.

It would have been the Pontiac version of Corvette - hence why the Chevrolet brass - er, GM brass said no to the car.

Always considered my Opel GT (my 1st car) to be a mini vette.:driving:  

The original Buick Wildcat II concept car clearly was a Vette-based concept car.
