N-Body brake upgrade: F-body front calipers

Recommended Posts

Alright, one of my projects which I want to undertake is the F-body front caliper upgrade. I've been researching it more on GAGT.com, but decided to get opinions needed over here.

THESE ARE THE 98-02 F-BODY CALIPERS

Now, the swap is pretty much straight forward. The F-body calipers bolt right up to the N-body's spindle, and I have to use 00-05 W-body Impala rotors. The heatshield in the back may have to be modified/trimmed. The downside, my 16" Chrometechs will have to be ground down on the backside to clear the calipers (The plastic chrome face backing extends out a bit from the back.

Now, I've never disconnected calipers before. Obvious things:

1) I need to pinch the rubber hoses to minimize fluid loss

2) Brakes will have to be bled afterwards.

The N-body brake hoses will bolt right up to the F-body calipers (as I've been told) so far, this is looking good, and minimal rigging work.

Any advice I should heed?

Oh hell yeah. The dark purple scheme will be implied.

That would look really good!

You should mix black light paint in there as well and put some black light LEDs up in there so they glow :lol2:
