Singing School Administrators in Mid-Michigan That School Is Closed

Frosty

This past week has caused a significant number of public schools and the state government to close due to the major winter storm and the follow-up polar vortex and sub-zero wind chills . Communicating this has taken some interesting and entertaining turns.

Local mid-Michigan school superintendents for the Swartz Creek Community Schools made a video announcing the closing of school due to Monday's major winter storm. Swartz Creek is about 15 miles due west from my house.

This first video went viral on Facebook and YouTube.

These guys were even mentioned on Jimmy Kimmel

They then followed it up with yet another musical video later this week because of the extreme (polar vortex) cold.

The first video was followed up by the Lapeer Community Schools superintendent - Lapeer is 10 miles due east of me.

Then the super from Benzie County schools was inspired by the Swartz Creek guys too. Benzie County is located is northern lower Michigan - near Traverse City. It happens to be the county where my grandparent cabin, on Crystal Lake, is. This is about 4 hours away from me.

Not sure if this is going to be an ongoing trend, but it has been enjoyable to watch and listen to.
