  1. Here are a before and after under hood pictures showing the upgrade to the WS6 airbox that accompanied the hood swap. Before After Next step will be to repaint the lettering silver as it originally was. The incresed acceleration and throttle response was readily noticable! Definitely a "feel it in the seat of your pants" mod, and the best part was it fit perfectly and was an easy swap due to being OEM parts.
  2. Thanks but I'll keep the low rise spoiler......I have nothing against the high rise, I just don't have anything against the low rise either.......As my goal is a '96 WS6 Formula clone, I want to stay true to the Formula format. Seems like all you see these days are the high rise.........Besides, with working on this one and restoring my Hawk at the same time, I'd rather put the cash towrds my LT4 build for the Hawk. Thanks, but I already have the EIbachs springs and Bilstien shocks....I'll keep you in mind if I need something else. Does your shop have a web site? Thanks!
  3. I have a set of Eibach springs as well as a set of Bilstiens I will be installing as time permits that should drop it a little more than an inch. Thanks! Thanks! Other than the springs and shocks, I have an airfoil for the TBI, and a bigger Y pipe with a high flow cat. I would eventually like to find a nice set of the painted '96 WS6 wheels for it and will add a cat back system to it with WS6 exhaust tips. I am going to keep this one mild, more of a '96 WS6 clone with some minor performance enhancements. I may even cam it and throw on a set of shorties.....haven't made my mind up on his part yet..............
  4. The Bird 93k The Hawk 78K The wife's GTO 91k The Work Truck Just rolled 10K The Mustang 65K Original/Documented The Elcamino 145K 3 motors later LOL!
  5. Welcome and nice ride minus the stickers though I understand why you car is wearing them....I myself, I want it ALL! Looks AND Performance!
  6. Thanks 6 Shooter. So far all the mods I have done to the Bird are OEM Pontiac parts with the exception of the shock tower brace and CAGS eliminator. Underhood pictures will be forth coming soon.
  7. Welcome and Nice GrandAM. Most all CAI are decent....just doen't get one with metal tubes...they can absorb heat from the engine bay and transfer that heat to the incoming air........good for winter driving...bad for summer driving/making horsepower
  8. Before .. After the installing the WS6 hood and airbox. Now if only I could get this photo in the Garage..............
  9. Sig modificaton...Done. Add member photo....Done. Post nice picture of the Bird in this thread....Done. Add nice photo of Bird to Garage......Done Make sig and Garge picture of the Bird and Hawk better.....Done Relax and have a drink.......in progress!
  10. Once you get to my age ,it won't be so bad!
  11. OK, so the only way to add a picture to the garage is by a file from my computer.....in other words, I can't add one from my photobucket?
  12. Thanks TigerGrandAmGT! it has 93K original miles and I am the 3rd owner over all, 2 family member owner.....My brother inlaw bought it in 97 from the original owner with just 14K on the odometer, he drove it a lot during the summer months to work etc.....he drove his pick up thru the winter months. He decided to get a Harley an asked if I wanted it......so I bought it.
  13. THANK YOU! chaosweaveR! I am sorry to admit that I need such a basic, elementary explanation, but that is exactly what I needed....once I've been through it once or twice it usually sticks.......Thanks Ghost for your input as well. I will get to work on modifing my sig ASAP but first......Today I just figured out I can email a photo from my phone directly to my photobucket album!!! So in celebration of this apiphany, here is a picture of the Bird, sporting the WS6 Ram AIr hood.... Now how's this for a picture? Maybe this would be a good garage picture?
  14. OK, got the picture with both added to the garage........ but there may be a garage posting out there with out a picture though.... so now, how in the $$%#%@$##@&&**@&^#%$@&@^@&@*^@^@*!!!!!! do I modify my "sig"????????????
  15. Uhhhhhhh.......... OK....I'll have to work on that......... ..........you guys are funny...........
  16. Cool...I can't wait for March now ...........until then you'll have to put up with my crappy pictures. One more question.......is it possible to list both The Bird and The Hawk in my profile? I tried to put both in and it wouldn't let me......told me it was too many characters.........
  17. Thanks for all the input on the phones guys.....my contract comes due in March so I will be shopping around/comparing phones. I'll pay closer attention to resolution this time.too. As I am a contractor/builder, I often take a lot of pictures of jobs in progress as well as completed jobs. I carry a pretty decent digital camera for that stuff.....I just need prints to put in my "Scrap Book of Projects" so it works well for me for it's intended use.....so I thought if I could email a picture from my flip phone to my computer it would be a start......the problem for me is getting it from the camera to a site like this or into photo bucket that's the PITA for me......putting them on the computer....saving them to a file.....(which I still don't understand completely) up loading etc.......PITA...PITA ....PITA....I'm just not a computer guy....I usually have to ask the wife to help me with this.........she can and knows all this stuff but a lot of times she isn't around when I want to do it, or is too busy with something else.....I have been trying to learn all this stuff....so if I buy a new phone , is there a way to just take a picture and then send it straight to photo bucket or this site with out having to go thru 2 or 3 other steps first?????
  18. It's barely a year old....but it is a flip phone........find me a "Smart Phone" that will live thru drops off of ladders and scafold (several sections high) and is dust and water resistant, is no bigger than a open flip phone, and I will buy it. LOL!
  19. Ok, here are some of the Hawk, not much to look at........... yet. I will have to take a new one of the Bird sporting it's WS6 hood. This first one is of the Bird (on the left) and the Hawk (on the right) I would like to use this first picture as my profile picture but I can't #%@$&^@*%$ figure out how to do it! It's in my photo bucket account...... Yes this is a factory red interior. Grubby airfilter has been replaced...also cleaned and repainted this air box.... Here is a picture of the lid after I cleaned, repaired and repainted it. This is taking delivery of the Hawk. I already put a NOS factory radio in it and the power antenna started working...it had a cheap, crappy after market stereo in it. finally, here is a picture of the original WS6 air box I put in the Bird. I still have to re-paint the lettering silver on it. Sorry some of the pictures are so small! UGH! I DON"T KNOW WHY! They were all taken on my cell phone.......
  20. Hey guys and gals, I'm baaaaaaaack. Haven't done much to the bird except for a original WS6 Ram Air box and a original WS6 Ram Air hood. That's all since the shifter change I posted on here a while back. I know, I know, last time I was on here the plan was for a Firehawk clone........well, I bought a 95 Firehawk (car #046) last March, and will now devote all the original Firehawk parts I have aquired to it and will continue converting my Formula into a WS6 clone. The Firehawk is solid but rough and has potential......luckily I still have the stock Formula to use as a guide to get the Firehawk back to original form, although I have been collecting parts to build a stroked LT4 for the Firehawk. It came stock with the LT1. More to come later...... How do I move or add the thread I did on my shifter change on the Formula to be a progression thread? It is under Performance. I thought that would be a good start for it......I will start a seperate progression thread for the Firehawk once I get started on it.... Thanks for any help you can give.
