  1. I don't think I knew you only paid a G for the other Bonnie when I talked to you last. That's awesome man! Looks great.
  2. I definitely dig those wheels a lot more than the foose ones. They should look pretty good on the g6.
  3. It's not quite where I want it but it's getting there. I mounted and balanced the new front tires this weekend. Ordered shorter lugs to use with the 15mm spacer/adapters for the front. They came in but were just about as tall as a typical lug nut. Ok.. So I figured I would use the new lugs on the rear spacers and use the lugs that came with the 15mm spacers originally in the front.. Turns out the new lugs were even too long to use in the 20mm rear spacers.. Sweet. So I took 10 of them to my bench grinder and got them to fit. Then.. ran out of time to do the fronts. I did finally scan the car for the first time, which was interesting.. Turns out my Bank 1 LTFTs at idle are +2.3% and Bank 2 are -4.6% And I have DTCs galore.. Heater circuit codes for all O2s Egr temp sensor (No egr on the car) Evap leak code Evap solenoid code (the evap system isn't hooked up) A fuel pump control signal code (found out its from running a 97 ecu in a 98) And a TPS code. I figured I would get codes for the evap, egr, tps and from the rear O2 since it was rubbing. I put off scanning the car for the longest time since I know I would probably end up trying to fix all of the codes. And.. I was right. I'm going to replace the front O2s and work on all the other stuff eventually. For the rear O2, I'm just going to use a simulator with a resistor for the heater circuit. I'm going to get a JY egr temp sensor, and hack up an EGR tube to put it in. I'll also get a JY evap solenoid and drill/tap the UIM for that connection. I'll grab a 98 fed-spec manual ecu whenever I come across one. And I'll finally adjust the TPS I have a 3.5 engine with static 3.0 timing equipment and 3.0 engine control. There aren't many of these swaps that don't have a CEL. Now that I'm fairly certain I can be CEL-less, I want to be too. Oh and my painter buddy offered to pull/straighten out the front end for free.
  4. Thanks. My front tires are toast so I ordered new ones yesterday.. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx. The set I have now treated me pretty good. I decided to go 225/50/18 vs. the 245/45/18 I had. I think the slight stretch I have going on in the rear would look nice up front too. The rear is a 245 on a 9" and the front will be a 225 on an 8". I also bought short nuts to use some 15mm spacer/adapters I picked up a little while ago. So, the front wheels will be pushed out 15mm but the top corners of the tires will only be out 5mm more. The passenger side should look legit and hopefully the drivers side looks a good bit less hellasunk. The nuts and tires should be here by the weekend. If the shop I'm always at isn't swamped on Saturday, I should be good to go for getting this in then.
  5. I started on the exhaust tip bumper notching today. I had to cut out the trapezoidal sections of bumper support in the way of where I want the tips, measured a bunch of times then I slowly started removing material from the bumper. The notches only allow for a quarter of the tip to be tucked up into the bumper so far. I would like to get it half way tucked with clearance. I ran out of light but I need SS wire plus a new liner for the MIG feed line anyway.
  6. I saw that thread on SW. Soooo legit.
  7. Pretty cool. Do you know if you were seeing any knock retard when you scanned last?
  8. Thanks! I did get some work in today.. The dual wide band O2 sensors are wired up now. Recap: One WBO2 reads the front bank, the other WBO2 reads both banks, and the OEM O2 sensor wiring is extended so it can also read both banks. I hate running wires into the cabin but I got smart this time.. I used two of the EGR wires not in use anymore and wired the gauge signal wires into the cabin via the firewall plug. Holy crap was my tune off. My LTFTs were wayyy rich and my A/Fs in PE mode were maxing out the WB gauges. I had to take a ton of fuel out to get the LTFTs close to 128 (0%) and the PE A/Fs in the 12s. So, as of right now, the car has a decent rough tune. That made a huge difference in acceleration and it hustles pretty good now. Sometime in the future I'd like to drop the trans pan and throw in some Caterpillar trans fluid to mix. I've done this in the past to firm up shifts and prevent fluid breakdown. Right now I'm shifting at 5800 or so until I can mix that stuff in. The next major thing on the agenda are the exhaust tips. I've got a decent amount of cutting to do to have them where I want. I only snapped one pic unfortunately but I've got a short vid of the WB02 gauge in action.. />http://youtu.be/8pjd0XicmqQ Just a single pod 3m taped to the column. I didn't want a pilliar pod or anything and I figured this is the cleanest route to go.
  9. I'm interested but can't commit since I honestly have no idea where I'll be till like a week or so before.
  10. I missed the last few replies.. lol. I'm hoping to get some work in on this car Saturday. Also.. This car is going to be garage kept as of May.. I'm in the process of buying a house.. The seller and I have signed the buyers agreement as of today. I'm pretty siked on it.
  11. A little bit of an update.. The i30 got my old 8/9" BBS Super RS wheels with some hubcentric rings.. I made 3 trips to VA between mid Dec and Mid Jan and on one of those trips my rear caliper piston seal let go. lol. I swapped the caliper in a parking lot. I got a spare VLSD trans rebuilt which I'll throw in eventually.. A couple weeks ago I decided to space out my rear wheels and roll my rear fenders with a jack handle. And today I got some maintenance and not so maintenance in. A few months back I had a little play in the drivers front wheel at 3 and 9, meaning tie rod. That side had an almost seized adjuster nut which was a PITA during the last alignement so I got an inner and outer for that side and an outer for the passenger side. I was able to get in on a lift at my buddies shop so that got banged out pretty quick.. and I decided to lower the front another half inch. The LCAs are at such a crappy angle that lowering increased my camber by 1* in the positive direction. lol. I was running about a half a degree of negative camber before and now I'm closer to zero. I banged the alignment out pretty quick on thier rack too. Here's a pic before the rear spacers and the rest are from after the alignment today and a wash. That last one is the bad side.. it shows the reminder of the damage done when the PO got hit in the front passenger side wheel. It shifted the old bumper support and bumper over, pulling the fender out. So, there's like a 5-10mm difference in how flush the front wheels are at similar camber. Pretty beat, might fix it one day. Same goes for the dented drivers doors, messed up front bumper, kinked hood.. At least it cleans up pretty good and it's all one color.
  12. I love the third gen car community. There are some real poineers there. I've read tons of thread over on thridgen.org about maf-only tunes and it's just mind blowing. There's a massive wealth of information there about tuning due to regular guys cracking the code.
  13. So, not Dubstep, but Trance.. I did see Above and Beyond last weekend and it was amazing. This was at the end. I was completely soaked from dancing my own ass off and dancing with my friend (girl) on my shoulders, lost my dress shirt, had to buy a shirt so I wouldn't get sick walking home. It was super fun and it seemed like the DJs were having as much fun as we were.
  14. Get a set of the factory service manuals for your year/car. They have more info than you'd ever want to know. They're seriously priceless at this stage in the game. Ebay has them every now and then. www.gmpartseast.com has a bunch of exploded diagrams and random parts still available. They took all the left over parts from the dealership warehouses once they stopped selling them.
  15. Yeah, when I had no money for a bunch of tools I borred a buddy's from auto tech school. I did my first head/cam swap like that. lol.
  16. @ Ringo, all great for reasons why you like the kind of music you do. But, you stated many of your opinions as fact, which isn't necessary.
  17. Lol. Yeah time, money, learning how to do a lot of things on your own, and not listening to people that don't get it. I also had plenty of time without much money to learn and really figure out what I wanted to do. That thread is probably the past 4 years of on and off work but 10 years of learning and figuring out what works. I had my first 95 Bonnie from 02-06' and second from 07+.
  18. I listen to a ton of electronic music and I honestly don't care what DJs are referred to as. I also don't think they are fighting to be recognized as musicians either. For the most part I think they consider themselves DJs and/or producers.. So no reason to get butthurt there. Now, that said. If you think it's easy to make good/decent electronic music, you're very uneducated on the subject, close-minded, and archaic. Nobody cares if you don't get it and there's no reason to compare it to other things. People listen to stuff cause it's catchy, shakes up something inside, whatever. Which type is best will always be subjective
  19. I liked dubstep when Burial - Untrue came out in 07'
  20. I hate dubstep that sounds like: a.) Transformers b.) Someone is having a synth seizure c.) It's made by a metal kid that never learned an instrument That's probably about 90% of it now a days which pains me to say I do like the genre.. well 10% of it. But, I am going to see Nero next month.
  21. No problem. lol. As soon as I'm done with mine.
  22. Welcome. That's my favorite stock color. I almost bought a 94 in that color and planned on swapping in a charcoal interior.
  23. Yeah, I'm not a big fan of Bozo cars. I've never seen them while over there but I have seen plenty of dope cars otherwise.
