  1. Need a seatbelt for that top ride.
  2. Looters caught on nationwide TV in Ft Lauderdale. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4870676/Eight-looters-broke-Fort-Lauderdale-clothing-retailer.html#ixzz4sJIDt9hR
  3. One hour til the eye wall runs over Naples. Sorry man.
  4. Well, she's back up to Cat5, but it looks like naples might get off easy. Joey's edging up to Cat5 tho .... and all bets are off there
  5. Just heard on another site ... Li'l Joey has graduated to Class 4. Anything Irma leaves standing, Jose's poised to make the spare on. Take lots of photos before you leave Fl.
  6. OK, brain went walkabout on me this morning .... still haven't found the time to play with her, or the cottage roof. Getting on my nerves. Letting the truck run for a couple of minutes to warm up makes the second gear grab much less noticeable. But, getting a fairly loud whine from just behind the driver's compartment. Not finding any passengers hiding back there, I suspect the fuel pump isn't long for this world. I wonder what it would take to change the grill to a Pontiac.
  7. If only I'd fixed those damn brakes.....
  8. I read this and you know what I hear? Paper or plastic. Remember not all that long ago when environmentalists encouraged us to choose plastic bags over paper to save the trees. Today the same idiots howl at our use of the plastic they demanded we choose. Same environuts who espoused clean small diesel engines over gas in europe ... only to now see those same cars banned from downtown London. Today they demand electric cars ... but how long until they finally catch up with the idea that recycling all that light weight garbage those cars are made of is 100 times harder and costlier than just melting down a car made of steel. That there's no environmental win in recycling and building a new car every ten years over keeping an old car in good running shape for 40. Wrestle the pig all you want ... if you don't eventually figure out that the pig is enjoying it more than you are ... you're dumber than the pig.
  9. Sure ... if you need a safe home for your welders and grinders well away from any risk of getting wet, I can even provide an address with a loading dock to receive them.
  10. I wonder what Gilligan would be doing right about now ...
  11. I hope you own a helicopter ... the roads are screwed all the way to Atlanta
  12. Is there another room you'd rather I was unsupervised in, touching other things you consider precious?
  13. Civilization on the couple of islands it's already crossed has pretty much ceased to exist. They got hammered back to the stone age.
  14. No, I haven't done the brakes yet, although I did inspect the rubber lines and none of them have a hernia. The pickup is sitting with a half tank of gas until the Harvey price hikes subside ... if they ever do. $1.439/l and still climbing. The Malibu gets to limp along for yet another reprieve. Damn things got more lives than a cat.
  15. That's just a random vid you stole off the web
  16. We already have transparent solar panels ... they're called windows.
  17. That's next week's trouble. I'll address it then. Got enough grief just trying to get to vacation.
  18. MT-2500. I can hunt them down on e-bay .. and the necessary obd2 keys .. but at that point I'm approaching the cost of just having the job done by someone else.
  19. We jsut talked about the lousy brakes on the Sierra and what might be the trouble. He thinks MC as well, or a rubber line hernia. I've never had a MC issue that didn't go to the hard floor. But I've never had a pedal this spongy from just old fluid either. 2 more days and then I'm off for 2 weeks and can tear into it. The bitch is this thing has ABS, and I don't have the right modules for my Snap On scanner to cycle the solenoids.
  20. I had a yammer with him on Fartbook a couple of days ago.
  21. Never saw a Chevy SS here, haven't seen a Viper in over a decade. That Hyundai thing ... didn't know it even existed. Fully half of that list is vehicles I've never seen on the road.
  22. I don't trust anyone .. you know that. But brazing (not welding) a manifold ... if an exhaust shop isn't up to that ... WTF. Hell, my local scrap yard can do that. And for a manifold, 9 time outta 10 a good braze will last forever. Literally the only stress on it is thermal.
