  1. Dunno. It's possible someone else took a call from him and hasn't gotten around to telling me about it. Either way, I think next weekend I'm gonna finish doing the brakes on it just so I can start it and move it around. I still haven't had the chance to run any tests on that transmission I rebuilt and I really want proof I'm as good as I think I am.
  2. And a week latier ... I still have the parisienne.
  3. I'm split between driving it and the boy's pickup at the moment. I'll run her til she dies if I can... But she's a tough old horse. She's not going down without a fight.
  4. I've got a guy wants it. He's supposed to call me this weekend to arrange picking it up. He finished a Lemans project last year and saw it while driving past and inquired. Interested enough to make 4 calls to finally catch me so I think he's bonified. I mentioned that I was keeping it as a parts car for the olds and he countered by asking what parts I needed ... he might have them for me. More importantly, he knew the ins and outs of plating an old car in QC, so I'm pretty sure he's legit.
  5. For sure. Worst case I can always beg a spot with the Olds crew down the road.
  6. Even if I find one, it won't be this year. Too many irons in the fire. I might make woodward this year just because I don't have time for anything else.
  7. All of the above. with a bunch of 'we're just dickheads' thrown in for spice.
  8. Quebec is very tough about plating older cars, and out of province cars. Out of province AND older would be just too much gov't hassle. If it wasn't so much trouble I'd have gotten my station wagon years earlier. I'm sure GE could have found one with no rust at all and a 455 in about 20 minutes.
  9. Chevettes and acadians are on my daily kijiji search list. Haven't seen one in years. Quebec salt is lethal.
  10. Indian ... surely you're not suggesting the US was ever by any definition a Utopia. It's a Republic, where people agree to disagree.
  11. Creation of a Utopia requires a mentality that living IN a utopia would never engender. A Utopia is everyone agreeing and being happy with established rules .. they're happy with those rules because they know what it's like without them. Grandchildren only see someone telling them what they can't do. Oh, and it just got worse. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/general-motors/2018/03/12/buick-removes-name-vehicles/32870587/
  12. You can get nitrous for everything ... at least once.
  13. Utopia never lasts more than a few generations before it eats itself
  14. Wiley's always talked ... to everyone except the bird. Talks to Bugs all the time.
  15. It's important to him that cars go electric ... so he can blast huge amounts of pollution into the upper atmosphere with is rockets and not feel so bad about it.
  16. Yeah, that fuzzy that I thought was dirty adhesive appears to be felt. So no help on sorting the lock to be found there.
  17. No, the first one. The one you gave the part number for. Second one I still can't track.
  18. I think you've nailed the first one, Chief. Hard to see it in that bag, but definitely has the same curve. Further researching your lead ... looks like it's a window part, not a lock part. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/RH-Front-Side-Window-Regulator-04-05-06-07-08-Chevy-Malibu-15781318-New-OEM-GM-/232201152688 Says it's a windows stop bumper.
  19. What the Hell is That? A little back story. 2005 Malibu (close your eyes and pretend I said Pontiac) recently has issues with the door key during freezing temps. Key will turn to lock easy enough, but jams a little over a quarter way into the unlock direction. During the latest thaw, I managed to get it open and tear off the door panel. Inside, feeling the rod from the key lock while turning the key ... feels real 'grindy' turning in both directions. Can't recall at the moment, but I think the unlock direction pushes the rod down. Sprayed WD40 in to disperse any residual water .. intend to white grease everything come the next warm day. But in the bottom of the door .. I found these two characters. Both are severely cracked. Dunno what they're for or where they belong. Both have a flat side with some fine fuzz which I suspect was once adhesive now covered in dust. Anyone have any idea ... and could they be the reason for my lock trouble?
  20. Getting into the Mile High club is a LOT tougher now. Before, a wink and some cash to a stewardess would get you left alone in the 'private stall' long enough to join with a willing partner. Now, any grunts or groans, or even taking too long is likely to get the flight turned back and you in handcuffs (again?). Now ... getting back to things that make ME tingly (as opposed to Mrs. NAT) Tell me that yellow one with the split grill isn't just begging for an arrowhead. https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/Electric-cars-electric-motorcycles-electric-sightseeing-cars-Car-electric-carriage-instead-of-walking/436811_32400830766.html?spm=2114.12010612.0.0.6a2de451p3L2j6
  21. He'd still say it was the car's fault. That's their narrative. I have a bike permit myself. I always watch for them ... but I don't ride anymore myself because the insurance is too costly. Because 90% of the riders on the road today are as bad as 90% of the car drivers ... and it's always someone else's fault. Quebec at least knows this. And they punish it. Plates for a bike include 'no fault' insurance. For a bike over 500cc, you're looking at $500 to plate it. UNLESS it's classed as a 'sport bike'. If that's the case ... DOUBLE IT!! $1000 for plates for a 3 season vehicle. Why? Because if you're buying a 'sport bike', you're buying it to be stupid. Can't say I've seen anything to make me disagree with them.
  22. K&N gave a sponsor code to CanadianPoncho's site. Got a discount and the site gets a couple of bucks for every time the code is used. On the Olds, the oil filter is really tough to get at with a normal filter wrench and their nut end was a real find. Haven't heard anything bad about them so that's what I've been using.
  23. The Olds guys are gonna lose their shit.
