Lowering Springs
dxdean3 replied to codybirchem's topic in Pontiac Suspension, Brakes, Rims & Tires Dicussion/Questions
lowering on stock struts/shocks is a very bad idea, they will blow out within a few months and give you a very uncomfortable ride, i know because i needed a new strut in the back pass side for the sunfire, so i bought a replacment one cuz it was cheaper than another KYB, and that stocker is almost toast, idea is, save the money and do it right the first time -
i like the wheels your getting, they should look good on the car

LE5 intake manifold on L61....thoughts??
dxdean3 replied to dxdean3's topic in Pontiac Performance Discussion/Questions
i have thought about that, i'd like to stay N/A as the sunfire is my DD for now, but if i find a SC kit or a wrecked ss cobalt for cheap, im not gonna pass it up -
damn, spark plugs are never supposed to be that tight, hopefully its back up and running soon

dxdean3 replied to dxdean3's topic in Pontiac Performance Discussion/Questions
LSJ cant be done either, same basic reasons as the LE5 lol, and i didnt think it sounded like that, but i figure if im gonna buy an LE5 manifold, why not buy the whole engine and have some fun? -

LE5 intake manifold on L61....thoughts??
dxdean3 replied to dxdean3's topic in Pontiac Performance Discussion/Questions
i do belive ill need an adapter of some sort, but now im also considering the LE5 bottom end swap -
the front looks fine to me, the back wheels just need to be out a little bit more
-
i think it looks badass, although, from the pics, you could use some spacers in the back, they look a bit sunk in
-
im pretty sure they have 15's, dont quote me on that though, btw the van is coming along nicely i must say
-
i hate when people do this, happens to us at GM Tunerz sometimes, members of other local car clubs come on our forum and try to get our potential members to go to their club instead, its just wrong
-
no i mean the roads period would destroy them, summer winter, whatever season, if i lived in the city it'd be a different story, but i live in the sticks......lol
-
i would find a set of 18's, but the conditions of the roads would destroy them lol
-
i know that, but even if installed right, spray can harm the engine over time, i just find a nice small turbo set up, even though more exspensive, seems like a better route to me, im not saying dont go spray, but ive seen some people who have added n2o and ended up replacing their engines because of it, but if spray is what he wants then give'r
-
i wouldnt use spray if someone give it to me, to me if i wanted a big power gain like that, i'd just boost it, makes more sense in the long run, and you can make more power with a big ol turbo than some silly bottle in your trunk, thats my 2cents

painted a few select things
dxdean3 replied to dxdean3's topic in Pontiac Interior Discussion/Questions
lol i know, i havent cleaned the interior in a while, been to damn cold lately to stay outside and do it -
heres some interior painting i did, i got tired of looking at the bland black interior, so i spiced it up a bit its nothing over the top and stupid looking, i think it looks just right PS ill get better pics in the day light!
-
thanks again everyone, valid and notallthere, im using eibach springs(not sure which ones) and the KYB AGX struts, but i think over this coming summer im gonna order some Tien Basics to replace the KYB's
-
i love it, handle alot better, the car doesnt feel like its gonna flip over going around a corner anymore!
-
well im doing some stuff tomorow actually, painting the trim rings around the vents silver, and painting the grilles in the bumper flat black, and possibly tinting my side markers a bit, not quite sure what else i wanna do to it right now
