  1. At minimum he should clean the road trash off.
  2. Strip all the extra weight. All seats, empty the glove box, remove the spare, only have 1/4 tank of gas. You really wont use that much at the track. Put your tires in the low 20s. Stock is 30PSI right? If you don't mind spending the money do the football mod. The Cobalts have success with this. If you do a burn out, do it until you produce a healthy amount of smoke, anything else is basically a waste. Do you know how to launch properly?
  3. Actually, classes are a 70/30 split. 70% in the shop working, 30% in a room listening. When we are in the shop, we have to do class related work, however that work can be done on our own cars. So yes, the G6 will be getting worked on quite a bit. I'm thinking Brembo at least.
  4. Well, I got my impact today. Its awesome! I also toured UNOH where I hope to go to school in a month. iirc they have 7 dynos on site, as well as a ton of equipment, and highly qualified teachers.
  5. TBH, that would be easy to cut off, and reuse. However the heat-shielding, and new filter would cost, and as I said, I just don't see the gains worth it. The factory air-box serves as a good heat-shield.
  6. Thanks, I'm in Anderson, Indiana. I'll be going to college in Lima, Ohio though. My current setup functions as a good intake. by the time I fabricated everything else, or bought it, I don't see gains worth it.
  7. Wait, do you mean the tube for the valve cover? It came with a replacement for that, but I've misplaced it. I'll find it though.
  8. What rubber tube? This is that piece I linked you earlier. I haven't modded it at all. I will have to do something when I get th new TB in though.
  9. Honestly with the pipe upgrade and a K&N panel filter, it flows pretty well.
  10. So my engine became a nudist today. She sounds incredibly sexy now. Can't wait to show her off at the Ohio meet.
  11. Look at the upper right hand corner of your dyno sheet. Dyno sheets can be soothed out to simplify the data. Your just hasn't been nearly as much as some. As for VVT, idk the details, thats just what I've heard.
  12. Nah cheapo balt. I'd stick a built motor in it anyways. You're welcome to drive up here if you really want to race. Also a little teaser of a possible purchase. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_0...0P?prdNo=1#desc
  13. Honestly, I think I am still doing a lot more than most G6s. I'll have 30-40 more HP, and significantly improved handling. Plus as time continues more things will happen to the 6. I want and exhaust, and Brembo's still. Also I would like a better stereo. Just the G6 project is getting slowed down. I may buy a cobalt in a few years and mod the ecotec in that. Its universal. I linked a how too for making it look good. I'm also still working on mine, there hasn't been much time. I know there are others that will pass me one day, but for a bit I will. I figure I will be ale to make that claim for a year or so. Also Ringo lives to far away. The closest I know is Cade. We'll see who is in Ohio in Sept, If a 3.5 shows I'll try for a race. The biggest factor is if they have WAMS or not.
  14. Eh, I figure by the middle of next year, I'll still have the most power 2.4L G6 in the country, and even though I'll be short of my original goals, I'll still be able to take the 3.5 guys.
  15. So I just got back from MD. It turned out to be an interesting trip. Its also been decided to mostly scrap the G6 project, sadly. The car has to be DD, and money is going elsewhere. She will still get an exhaust, and I'll do the tune, but that will be the end for her. I should still end up in the 180-190 WHP range, so all is good. Thats not too much below my target anyways. In better news, I'm grabbing a new project. It was going to be a RB20 swapped 240, then I got a better offer. I'm going to redo our 1971 Ford F100, and someone else is footing the bill. . Plans include, rear end swap, brake upgrade, maybe tranny, motor work, and paint/ restoration work. Dad wants to make it more reliable, get better economy, and keeping it running for the years to come. Also while in MD, I wrote 4 more tunes to test.
  16. So me and my buddy tested a new tune last night. We managed to shave .4s of the 0-60s that I was running last night. Sadly due to the conditions of the roads (wet), and the slipping tranny they weren't that great of 0-60s.
  17. Can't wait to see it done. Are you using box cutters on it? If so, they make special carpet knives that will do a lot better of a job. You can pick one up at Lowe's fairly cheap.
  18. I also left out that red on black is a bitch to read.
  19. No pics = banhammer pics = fine and dandy Makes me want to go code something.
  20. 4750 is probably VVT. All dynos are wavy.
  21. Nice, but while we're making suggestions, you should put an inter-cooler down there.
