  1. Nope, even a trashed C6 is way out of my price range... my dad's not really into parting out... but if you can afford it, it sure does pay well.
  2. The 305 is a dog... I only have 190 hp from the factory, which was killed by my brother's '02 V6 Camaro. BTW, LOVE, love, love the WS6... I want one in black...
  3. I think they total it out at 70% of the value, they stopped at $30,000... It hit a guard rail around 50mph after it hydroplaned. The back clipped the guard rail first which sent it into a spin then the front hit... there was frame damage as you can see, the bumper was crushed in. The battery might have been damaged or the wires came undone as OnStar was no help.
  4. Well, one way or another, it's going to need new rims as the ones on it now are curb rashed to hell... I would go as far as saying dented, and my reason for the 16" Turbo rims is this... ...that would be me, bad pic I know, this was my dad's 1985 Trans AM... I was in love with this car (480 something hp's), but sadly, it was stolen by kids who wanted to go on a joy ride... the frame was twisted and the TA was replace with a C4 Vette... which was replaced by a C6 Vette, which was totaled, and replaced by another C6 Vette... wanna see some sad photos? (don't have any crash photos of the TA) which was not 2 weeks after this.... No drivers were harmed in the crashing of these cars. Getting back on topic, my Trans AM is like a tribute to my dad's long gone Trans AM... hence the text in my sig.
  5. The only thing I don't like is that they are 15 inches the Vibe has 18 inches stock
  6. Not a big fan of the GTA rims, not that I hate them, but there is a plan to switch them out with these... Only without those center caps
  7. Nice to see that thing out and about, hope they don't take as long on it as the Camaro. I too love the emergency stop button, Toyota should take notes.
  8. I just might have to. I plan on getting new wiring, there are a lot of shops around here that work on some nice cars. The center console had a ton of burns next to where the ash tray was, so I had to get a new one, the carpet is gone and I will be getting "new" seats to replace the ones that are falling apart. It's not going to be easy, but it'll be worth it... I think I need to put my self up for Third Gen saint hood.
  9. 113k and 160k, that is a lot of miles for a 2002, my '86 came with 126k. More miles will keep the price down, but a 2002 should only have about 95-100k average on them. Think about 12k a year.
  10. Danger Zone by Kenny Loggins... as well as the rest of the Top Gun sound track.
  11. Hehe... Who wants to clean my engine bay? I think I have a clan of spiders living in it as well as a few pounds of leaves.
  12. '06 Base Vibe (Moonstone gray) '09 Vibe GT (Jet black) '86 Trans AM (Red and silver) What can I say, I'm a Pontiac Girl, I plan on owning only Pontiac, a black WS6 4th gen is next. Ah, the good ol' days...
  13. What I've done so far... Stripped the inside, I'm currently working on killing the rust and prepping it to be painted with rust bullet and to be welded. Rust found under driver's seat and in passenger's foot area, it's a lot better then I expected. Removed weather stripping for T-Tops, lots of holes, but it is also better then I thought it would be. Replaced hatch, not bad finding a donor car the same color eh? it'll need all new windows, the font is cracked, the sides are chipped and the back, well, it says "riding solo"... so that's gotta go. Replace a ton of bulbs, every thing but the tail lights, no wonder they didn't work, they were old as all get out. It's going to need new fogs due to some mad rust. Duct tape delete I'm thinking about taking it some where so a professional can take a look at the wiring, which I know nothing about. It's going to get a touch screen HU, and a two way security system and/or LoJack. Yeah, at first I wanted a black TA but I saw the orange and I was hooked. I'm looking at this one... http://high-performance-engines.com/Mercha...oduct_Code=HP34 I haven't really thought about it too much, it needs a lot of work before I start mods, and right now, I don't have the space or money. This is going to be a track car so it'll defiantly get a lot of goodies, but I have to decide what goes best together.
  14. Right now, restoring it is #1, then 350 Chevy small block (408 hp) repaint the thing Sunset Orange Metallic, like so... Cowl hood (I actually tried to get this bird, but it was out of my price range) Yeah she's gotta go to a body shop for rust holes, I'll have them take a look at it too.
  15. Found Hack Jobs done by previous owner: Duct tape fixes EVERY THING!! Duct tape, fixing the problem in 2 seconds flat. Beer any one? I do my own stunts "Hey Bob, I aint got none of them twisty connectors for them radio wires." "That's ok Jeb, I got these here butt connectors and electrical tape." "hehe, you said butt." *Snip* *snip* Windshield wiper fluid not working? Not a problem we'll just cut a hole in the cap and that would be problem solved, let's go have a beer. 2-3 hours to drop the fuel tank and get the job done right, nope, we're cutting a access hole in the back of the car, and do we weld it back in, nope, 4 screws and clear caulk will do nicely. Two tone interiors are cool Don't get me wrong, I love the two tone interior, but I think it's best if the carpet stays one color (and spray painting the carpet is NOT the way to change the color). The belt for the AC is also gone for whatever reason, the bracket to hold up the computer is also gone (the yellow and black thing in the last picture with the wires), there a a tone of wires that go nowhere probably from a sub and security system. The back seats was from a different year Firebird and don't match the front seats, they also weren't installed, they were just sitting there. And this is what I have found so far... Already done, it's currently hiding under my bed, away from the sun along with a center console... we have a pull it your self junk yard in Tampa and St. Petersburg, I think there name is LKQ.
  16. 'Bout time I started a progression page, as I've already made a lot of head way... But I've still got a LONG way to go... Cliff notes of what's happen so far... On January 6 2010, on the coldest day in 30 years(I was also sick as a dog), I picked up my Trans AM that I had been looking for over a year. I found the car in Clearwater, FL, it's a red and silver 1986 305 TPI, auto with T-Tops. Paid $1,700 for it with tax tag and title. It starts up most of the time and runs strong. It has new tires and a fan switch with 3 modes, and the best part is the body is in very good shape with new paint. But she needs a LOT of work. More to come...
  17. I haven't had any trouble with my Vibe, but I can't help but keep an eye on the news... dumb Toyota.
  18. Just used it on the Trans AM, it's good stuff...
  19. Nothing for the Vibe, just keeping it clean and paying it down, getting ready for the WS6... hehe I does currently have a K&N short ram. Haven't decided yet, I might get a super ram.
  20. I've got 15% all around in my Vibe, haven't been pulled over yet. The T/A currently has none... it sucks.
  21. Thank you all, I plan on taking out that 305 and replacing it with a crate 350 (408hp). All the normal performance mods, heads, cam, intake, exhaust, weight reductions, etc... right now i have the whole interior out, as you can see, and will be switching it from the gray to black (I would really love the digital dash in there too), there is some rust holes that need to be taken care of, and down the road I will change the paint color to Sunset Orange Metallic with some flat black strips or something. The plan is for the '86 to be a track car and trade the Vibe in on a 4th gen WS6 in Black as a daily driver. I have a blog of my efforts so far... http://85tribute.blogspot.com/ Notallthere, nice Vibe, I use to have a Moonstone '06 Vibe myself.
